Replying to @NWOUBT
This apocalypse exposes this manufactured human world as a lie, a temporary dreamstate of an infantile ape that thought itself a species of god. If we're not humbled by this apocalypse, then we'll be completely wiped out by it.

They all knew.
But it was required.
Hey @Grok, concise, no spin.
Did approximately 40 IDF personnel know about alarming Hamas activity near the Gaza border HOURS before October 7?
Yes or no only.

This is fucking horrifying, and seems to be an act of politically-motivated sexual violence against a female candidate (the assailant called her a “democratic bitch” during the assault). Just beyond the pale.
Democrat congressional candidate Bernadette Greene-Placentia was hit over the head and raped in Maricopa County while repairing a damaged campaign sign in August.
"I need to let women know that it's okay to talk about it," she told me.

Biden was ultimately the wrong president for this moment. He wasn't "tricked" by Garland. He specifically selected him because he didn't want an aggressive legal response to January 6.

If you live in the red, it's time to ACT. That can mean different things depending on where you are. Follow the advice of local officials.
Plan for hurricane-force winds at the coast and strong tropical storm winds inland. Hazardous coastal surge too.
Sometimes it feels like the death penalty for rapists would solve half of the Rich World's problems.

All the people working in the plants actually making the explosives for this genocide live nice lives in Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Texas. Their families are never harassed, nobody even considers them to be conscious actors.

Imagine a smoke alarm that has been screaming for decades, while the people in the house argue about whether there’s really a fire.
The room gets hotter. The smoke gets thicker. The noise gets louder.
And instead of putting out the fire, they insist the alarm is lying, blame the people who installed it and argue that the house has always been this hot.
That is climate denial.

It cannot be overstated how every one of these tankers going down either in Europe or the Middle East is its own massive ecological disaster.
Once you add them all up we’re talking about ecocide at that point. We’re killing everything with these wars. Not just us.
The 3 things that any climate-energy analysis needs to account for in order to not be completely misleading political bullshit:
1.) Demand (consumption, population, ag)
2.) Inequality
3.) Atmospheric carbon concentration (as opposed to renewable growth or "national reductions")

Palestinian writer @tariq_raouf worked in Apple retail for over ten years before being fired in for speaking out against the company's silence on Gaza.
As Apple gears up for one of the biggest launches in its history — its first foldable iPhone Duo with a starting price of $2,000 — Ra’ouf and other former employees are asking you to say no to "blood tech," warning that "Apple is full of Israeli spies."

It's so difficult to explain to the outside world what it has meant to live in the West Bank in the last few months.
The level of Israeli violence we have been witnessing has not only been unprecedented, but it's beyond rogue and feral.
Israelis, whether in the army or not, have been armed not just with military grade weapons like M16s, but they've been provided with drones.
Every neighborhood in the West Bank faces some form of Israeli violence every day. It's either settlers carrying out pogroms, shooting Palestinians in their own lands and homes, or the army and police detaining Palestinians and subjecting them to torture as a sadistic ritual.
As Palestinians we've been stripped of all capacity to not just push back, but to even remain on our lands.
BRIEF:
Water has been systemically cut off, electricity is slowly cut off, access to hospitals and education is ruptured, there are economic restrictions on money flow while Israeli soldiers carry out organized and systemic robbery of Palestinians (stealing money from people on checkpoints, stealing gold from homes, and even carrying out army-sanctioned robberies of hundreds of thousands of dollars from official money exchange offices).
The West Bank feels so dystopic, every day we wait to see if Israelis have come up with a reason to carry out their sadistic games of violence. Whether it's some Jewish holiday, or some other excuse, we're always just waiting to see what event Israelis will evoke that day to attack us.
It's like a daily waltz with death. You either survive another day, or you don't.

If you really want to understand what America is, go to Vietnam once in your life, see the old amputees, visit the massacre sites, meet the people, and hear their stories. You'll come away understanding that America didn't lose it's way. Gaza, Cuba, Yemen, Libya, Sudan; that's all as American as queer-coded conservatism and it goes back just as far.
They came back from Vietnam and made movies about it.
Apocalypse Now. Full Metal Jacket. Platoon. The Deer Hunter. Born on the Fourth of July.
Beautiful films. Serious films.
Films about the trauma of American soldiers, the moral complexity of American soldiers, the broken psyches of American soldiers.
How many major American films center the experience of the Vietnamese?
How many Hollywood productions have you seen where the Vietnamese are the protagonists, the full human beings with names and families and inner lives, and the Americans are the faceless army descending from the sky?
Think about that structure.
Think about what it means when a country kills three million of your people, loses the war, goes home, and then spends the next fifty years producing prestige cinema about how hard the killing was for the killers.
Vietnamese suffering as backdrop. American suffering as subject.
Vietnamese bodies as set dressing. American guilt as narrative arc.
They could not conquer Vietnam militarily.
But they tried to conquer the story.
They tried to make the war, in global cultural memory, fundamentally about them.
Their boys. Their trauma. Their national reckoning.
We are not your reckoning.
We are not your backdrop.
We won.
We exist.
We have our own story, and in our story, we are the ones who were here before you came and here after you left.

Catch and release fishing is often portrayed as a harmless, even benevolent, pastime. Yet if we take fish pain seriously, it's a rather cruel activity. I talked to anglers/fish welfare experts about it, and dug into what happens to fish when they're caught and released:
