Firstly, the GMC don’t get to decide prescribing rights. Secondly, nurses and pharmacists have been fighting for breathing space in primary care for 20+ years. PAs can join the queue and everyone else can shut the hell up. The BMA is not blameless in this.

Let's guess the GMCs next move -introduce PAs with a 2 yr course, give them prescribing rights and dump them on the public instead of Drs. This GMC leadership is dire. Try asking them hard questions - it's your job. Dr's welfare & patient safety has never been in worse hands.
