Announcement of New Law Scholarship Scheme
The Embassy of India, Kathmandu is pleased to announce the launch of a new Law Scholarship Scheme for Nepali nationals for pursuing law courses in reputed institutions in India.
2. The law scholarship will cover 25 Nepali students annually. Eligible candidates must have secured admission in one of the top 20 law colleges of India for pursuing B.A.LLB, LLB or LLM courses. The financial assistance under this scholarship will be provided on a reimbursement basis. It will cover tuition, admission and hostel fees upto a maximum limit of NPR 6.4 lakhs per student per annum. Candidates will be selected for this scholarship based on marks secured in the previous/qualifying examination.
3. Detailed information regarding the scholarship scheme, such as eligibility criteria, application procedure and other relevant guidelines can be accessed at the following link: indembkathmandu.gov.in/media…
4. The launch of a dedicated scholarship for pursuing law courses in India would further enrich the extensive India-Nepal educational partnership, and also help foster stronger friendship and camaraderie between the legal communities of the two countries.

Good news for the polity as a whole: Over the last two days, Gagan Thapa of Nepali Congress (संस्थापन) has consolidated his position against Sher Bdr Deuba (ईतर पक्ष). At this time of chaotic, non-transparent governance under PM Balendra Shah of RSP (where too schisms run deep), this gives the public reason to hope for sensible watchdogging. The development may also force KP Oli of UML, the other legacy party, to loosen his personal grip over the organisation and let new aspirants take over.
