Movie Night today was Lion King. Lihudu was watching it for the first time. That scene with the wildebeests broke his 2 year old heart to smithereens. Next stop, Game of Thrones (in about 18 years).

Dr. Njoya is elucidating on the political economy that made Ebola in Kenya possible. Why are Kenyans agreeing with this journalist as if the first case was not presided by the establishment of an Ebola facility at the behest of the US, for its citizens exposed to virus in DRC?
I’ve reported on Ebola for over a decade (& health for over 20 yrs) so I’m not usually surprised to hear disparate theories about disease outbreaks. But recent posts by a number of Kenyan thought leaders have left me dumbfounded. Here’s Dr Wandia Njoya, a university lecturer:

People who have never done anything remotely close to what Bien has done are in the comments talmbout ati "he needs to get out of his comfort zone and do better" 😭
Bien's music has degraded but people blow up his songs just because it's Bien singing.

This is interesting because when Sauti first switched their sound they got critique for it. But also, artists are often at crossroads when it comes to sound. You want to develop a recognizable sound, but also you need to cater to audience(s). And the dillema is not easy to navigate.
ppl are critiquing the sound. angalia sauti sol, hits zao like still the one, soma kijana, shake yo bam bam, melanin and suzanna sound nothing like each other. that growth and switching up is what ppl are asking for frm bien🫩

And what language sounds the same everywhere? Esp across countries?
I don’t know Swahili but whenever I hear Kenyans and Tanzanians speak it, I get the sense that Kenyan Swahili sounds like a diluted version of the language while Tanzanian Swahili sounds more authentic and closer to what I imagine the original Swahili should sound like.

I mean, have you ever tried to book Prince Indah? 😂😂😂😂. Also TPOK Jazz at their height was about 50 members. All heavy hitters. Akina Madilu, Josky, Franco etc. And this is 70s to mid 80s hapo.
How do you even travel, host and pay 25 people???

No president ever got this near to Agwambo. Only Ruto! But do I say? After the state burial, Luos are now saying in this video that Ruto sent “emissaries,” not “mercenaries,” to deliver Oxygen not teargas🤣. Anyway...Tutamz siku zote!!
