We will end up talking about this more on the podcast, but the more I sit with it, the more I hate this. I understand the desire to try to optimize but frankly this is running scared because we don't want to play road games. There's nuance to everything but overall I come away extremely disappointed in this, it truly is a new and different era not just in College basketball but in Villanova basketball history.
The current format of Big 5 men's basketball will end after this year, and the immediate future has the 5 non-Villanova schools playing round-robin without the Wildcats.
Villanova didn't want to keep this format, and another could not be agreed on.

Kevin Wilard has a stud duo in Tyler Perkins and Devin Royal, along with forward Kwame Evans Jr. coming over from Oregon. The Wildcats should once again be a force in the Big East.

Kevin Willard admits he isn't recruiting any high school players this year 👀
"We're not recruiting a high school kid this year... just because of the fifth-year rule. We have six guys that can come back for a fifth year. So, I'd much rather have one of my players come back, than bring in a high school kid"

I know I have a conflict of interest here given Dinks eligibility, but its crazy these conferences are making rules for *this* season a week before school starts after sitting on their collective thumbs for over 4 months. How is it fair to tell a player who would have been eligible last year, and was eligible as of 24 hours ago that they are not allowed to play now? I hope all players deemed ineligible (if any) appeal and get compensated in some form.
