Celebrating the Flamingos
I warmly congratulate Nigeria’s U-17 women’s football team, the Flamingos, on their remarkable performance at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. They have demonstrated exceptional talent, resilience and determination throughout the tournament, making our nation proud.
As they prepare to face Japan in the final, I want to assure them that Nigerians everywhere are firmly behind them. I encourage them to remain focused, confident and determined as they take this final step towards glory.
The remarkable achievements of our young women are yet another testament to the immense potential of Nigerian youths. With the right leadership and an enabling environment, our young people can continue to excel and distinguish themselves on the global stage.
Once again, congratulations to the Flamingos. Keep making Nigeria proud. The sky is your limit!

PRESS RELEASE
November 5, 2026
ONE WEEK, NEW LOAN, NIGERIANS SHOULD VOTE MASSIVELY FOR OBI/KWANKWASO TICKET IN 2027 SAYS NDC
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on Nigerians to turn out in massive numbers in the 2027 elections and use their votes to demand accountability, fiscal responsibility and a government that puts the people’s interests first. The party says the country’s growing debt burden, in light of new loan requests by President Bola Tinubu, and the obligations being passed on to future generations make this election too important for citizens to sit out.
President Bola Tinubu has again asked the National Assembly to approve a new external borrowing plan of $7.7 billion (approximately ₦10.79 trillion) to help finance the 2026 budget deficit, making this a case of one week, new loan.
Spokesperson of NDC National Campaign Council, Dr Constance Ikokwu, told journalists that the party’s passionate appeal to Nigerians is to turn out massively and vote for Mr. Peter Obi and Eng. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on January 16, 2027, just as Americans demonstrated the power of the ballot in their November 4, 2026 elections.
She observed that Americans, like Nigerians, are grappling with the high cost of living and economic hardship. Rather than merely grumbling or resigning themselves to their circumstances, she said, Americans turned out to exercise their democratic rights, demonstrating that the power to change government ultimately rests with the electorate.
Dr Ikokwu therefore urged Nigerians to emulate Americans, whom she described as champions of democratic participation, by coming out in their millions to vote for Obi and Kwankwaso.
Dr Ikokwu said: “Truly, it seems that right now, we cannot stop President Tinubu from his One Week! New Loan! One Week! New Loan! borrowing spree, which is already hitting the roof, because, regrettably, he has pocketed the National Assembly. We seem to have a rubber-stamp legislature that before a loan request formally gets to its desk, it has already been endorsed.
“But Nigerians should not despair. The ballot remains our most powerful instrument of change. We appeal to citizens to use their votes to rescue the country from this debt trap and entrust its future to a government committed to transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources.”
The NDC reiterated that the country’s economic future must not be mortgaged by unsustainable borrowing and the mismanagement of public resources.
Signed

Glad to share that the young lady who approached HE Peter Obi at the airport asking for help with getting a job is now employed!
A big thank you to the kind-hearted person who saw my tweet and asked her to send her CV to his company. I truly appreciate you.
I love the way Peter Obi’s supporters show up for fellow Nigerians. This mirrors what a Peter Obi presidency would look like.
#NigeriaWillBeOK
Imagine making Peter Obi’s loss, assuming he loses, the thing you look forward to, because I know with certainty that suffering Nigerians will win the elections through Peter Obi, a banter. That shows how much of a less empathetic and unpatriotic fellow you are.
Today at the airport, while trying to get our boarding passes to board our flight from Abuja to Lagos after our town hall meeting in Kaduna yesterday, two young ladies in their early 30s walked up to Peter Obi and requested to take a picture with him. He obliged, and I helped take the photo.
One of them came back after a while, looking so unsure, and asked if she could talk to Peter Obi about something. I asked if everything was okay. She said, “I just came back to tell Peter Obi that I don’t have a job and I need one desperately.”
I enquired about her qualifications and her area of expertise, and she said she’s into tech and specializes in product management. I asked further how long she had been in the field, and she said four years.
She has been looking for remote jobs, but it has been hard finding one. Being Nigerian at this time has not made it easy, as foreign companies do not trust Nigerians because the image of the country has been damaged, courtesy of our government.
She is a mother of two children from the North. I made her speak Peter Obi. He listened to her, asked that her number be taken and the conversation continued.
Because of how broken I felt, I said I’d reach out to people to help her with a job placement, as she said she was in dire need of one.
Yesterday, while in Kaduna, I had to pause and send some money to a friend who is married with three kids. “Esther, help me. My kids are hungry.”
This is the country where the majority of young people like yourself can’t boast of a well-paying job. They try to work remotely but can’t easily land a good job because our image before others has been destroyed. Young men like yourself are finding it difficult to settle down and live a responsible life. Citizens are not sure of their next meal.
Over 45,000 internally displaced persons are currently in Plateau. No food. No water. No security. Children are watching their parents being slaughtered on a daily basis. Mothers are carrying their dead babies, and cows have more value than human life.
But you’d rather downplay an entire election that can make or mar the nation and make it about how much it would “bang” if Peter were to lose this election.
And I ask myself, lose the election to whom? Tinubu? The same person who takes delight in the pain of the people he is governing?
Regardless of colour, race, gender, or party affiliation, humanity is the only thing that keeps the world sane.
I hope one day the cock won’t crow for your sake. In the end, you’re just a misled Nigerian, channeling your anger in the wrong direction.

"Reforms are working... Don't worry about all these small small things like food and all... It's the price to pay..."
Meanwhile, dey share Prados and approve more loans on top of our mounting debt.
I woke up this morning thinking about how hard things have become.
We're not living anymore. We're just existing.
Things that should be basic, like food, rent, transport, light and school fees, have become luxuries. You work twice as hard just to prove you're trying, and at the end of the month there's still nothing left to show for it.
Drive through any street and you'll see grown men and women begging. Some of them once had jobs, dreams and dignity. I can't blame them. The system that was meant to protect them failed them.
Every day, prices go up. Every day, we're told to be patient, that the reforms will work, that we should wait a few more years.
But how long can a hungry person wait?
As someone who talks about money every day, this one hurts me the most. I tell people to invest from the little they have. But for millions of Nigerians, that little isn't even enough to survive. You can't invest money that has already been eaten by rent and food before it lands.
Go anywhere in the world and you'll find Nigerians working harder than anyone in the room. We are not lazy. We are not unserious. Life here has just become unfair, and the wealth sits in the hands of a few.
Our brightest minds keep leaving. Doctors, engineers, creatives, builders. They didn't leave because they hate home. They left because home stopped making room for them.
And if you choose to stay and do things the right way, the system frustrates you until it breaks something in you.
To those who benefit from this, who loot what was meant for millions and think it will last forever, remember this. Everything in this life is vanity. The pain you've caused doesn't disappear. One day it comes back to the same table you're eating from.
But I refuse to give up completely. Things can still change if we become intentional and stop accepting this as normal.
The 2027 election is coming. Please, vote with your conscience. Don't sell your vote for a bag of rice and ₦5,000. That money finishes in a day. The suffering lasts four years.
Think about your children. Think about the generation coming after us. They deserve a country that doesn't punish them for being born here.
We deserve better. Nigeria deserves better.
Shalom.

FUNSO DOHERTY EXPOSES THE PYRAMID OF AGBEROISM AND MULTI-LAYERED TAXATION ON LAGOS ROADS; THE PYRAMID.
The Lagos State Governorship Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), HE Funso Doherty, has drawn attention to what he describes as an entrenched system of agberoism and multiple layers of taxation operating across Lagos roads, raising serious questions about who benefits from the system and the burden it places on residents, motorists, traders, and transport operators. Here's is the pyramid.
According to Funso Doherty, the problem goes beyond the activities of individual street-level collectors. He argues that agberoism has evolved into a deeply entrenched structure, allegedly sustained by political interests and used as a channel for extracting revenue from ordinary Lagosians.
His position raises a fundamental question: why has a problem that continues to affect the daily lives and economic activities of Lagos residents remained unresolved?
Doherty argues that meaningful reform requires confronting the structures that sustain this system, rather than merely addressing its visible operators. Lagos deserves a transparent, accountable, and properly regulated transport and revenue collection system; one that protects livelihoods, eliminates arbitrary levies, and allows businesses and commuters to thrive without unnecessary financial burdens.
The people of Lagos deserve answers, accountability, and a government that puts their welfare above political interests.
The conversation about a cleaner, safer, and more accountable Lagos must begin with confronting the structures that undermine its progress.

Once again: Nigeria’s poverty is driven mainly by governance failures, corruption, oil theft, insecurity and wasteful spending not the people.
Anyone telling you anything different is a fool!
Nigeria has a revenue problem because of decades long corruption & taking extremely foolish loans. NNPC still uses large forward oil sales, committing over 180,000 bpd to repay multi-billion-dollar deals.
Selfless leadership without corruption would raise our oil production, cut leakages and lift per-capita income well clear of lower-middle-income levels.
