మలబార్ గోల్డ్ పై FIR నమోదు: నమ్మకం పేరిట నిలువు దోపిడీ!
బిలాస్‌పూర్‌లోని మలబార్ గోల్డ్ షోరూమ్‌కి ఒక కస్టమర్ వెళ్లాడు. అతని కోరిక చాలా సింపుల్: తన దగ్గరున్న పాత 22 క్యారెట్ల HUID హాల్‌మార్క్ ఉన్న బ్రాస్‌లెట్‌ని ఎక్స్ఛేంజ్ చేసుకోవడం.
షోరూమ్ సిబ్బంది దాన్ని తమ XRF ప్యూరిటీ టెస్టింగ్ మెషీన్‌లో పరీక్షించారు. ఒక్కసారి కాదు... రెండుసార్లు... ఏకంగా మూడుసార్లు టెస్ట్ చేశారు. ప్రతీసారీ రీడింగ్ ఒకేలా వచ్చింది: కేవలం 20 క్యారెట్ మాత్రమే!
పైగా ఆ బ్రాస్‌లెట్‌పై అసలు హాల్‌మార్కే లేదని బుకాయించారు.
వెంటనే ఆ కస్టమర్ ఆ బ్రాస్‌లెట్ అమ్మిన లోకల్ జ్యువెలర్‌కి ఫోన్ చేసి రప్పించాడు. ఆ జ్యువెలర్ స్వయంగా వచ్చి HUID నంబర్‌ని నిర్ధారించి, వాళ్ల ముందే మళ్లీ టెస్ట్ చేయాలని పట్టుబట్టాడు.
అదే మెషీన్... అదే బ్రాస్‌లెట్... అదే రూమ్!
ఈసారి అక్కడి ఉద్యోగి మెషీన్‌లో ఏదో 'సెట్టింగ్' మార్చాడు. అంతే!
కట్ చేస్తే రీడింగ్ ఒక్కసారిగా 916 – ప్యూర్ 22 క్యారెట్‌గా మారిపోయింది! 🤯
ఆ లోకల్ జ్యువెలర్ ఈ తతంగాన్నంతా వీడియో రికార్డ్ చేశాడు. వెంటనే సరఫా అసోసియేషన్ రంగంలోకి దిగింది.
పోలీసులు షోరూమ్ మేనేజర్, మెషీన్ ఆపరేటర్‌లపై FIR నమోదు చేశారు. ఆ టెస్టింగ్ మెషీన్, సీసీటీవీ DVRను స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు.
ఇదేదో చిన్న వీధి చివరి దుకాణం కాదు... దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 'నమ్మకం, స్వచ్ఛత, BIS ప్రమాణాలు' అంటూ రోజూ ప్రకటనలు గుప్పించే "మలబార్ గోల్డ్"!
ఒకే ఒక్క బ్రాస్‌లెట్... రెండు రకాల రీడింగ్‌లు...ఏకంగా 8% బంగారం విలువలో తేడా! ఇక్కడ మారిన ఏకైక విషయం ఏంటంటే, పక్కన నిలబడి ఎవరు చూస్తున్నారు అనేది మాత్రమే!
ఒక హాల్‌మార్క్ ఉన్న బంగారు ఆభరణం, కస్టమర్ ఎక్స్ఛేంజ్ చేసుకోగానే అద్భుతంగా 2 క్యారెట్లు తగ్గిపోయి... గట్టిగా నిలదీయగానే మళ్లీ 2 క్యారెట్లు ఎలా పెరుగుతుంది? అసలు ఆ మెషీన్ దేన్ని టెస్ట్ చేస్తోంది?
కస్టమర్లు మలబార్ లాంటి పెద్ద షోరూమ్‌కి వెళ్లేది...బంగారం అమ్మేటప్పుడు మాత్రమే బయటపడే ఇలాంటి 'క్యాలిబ్రేషన్ తప్పుల' కోసం కాదు. తమ బిల్లుపై ముద్రించిన స్వచ్ఛత కోసం!
- FIR నమోదు కావడం నిజం.
- ఆ రెండు రకాల రీడింగులు రికార్డుల్లో ఉండటం నిజం.
- పోలీసులు మెషీన్‌ను సీజ్ చేయడం కూడా నిజం!
ఒకే బంగారానికి మళ్లీ 22 క్యారెట్ అని రావడానికి మధ్యలో ఆ 'సెట్టింగ్' ఎందుకు మార్చాల్సి వచ్చిందో మలబార్ ఇప్పటికీ సమాధానం చెప్పలేదు. 🤐
వాళ్లు క్లారిటీ ఇచ్చేంతవరకు, ఇది కేవలం మెషీన్ లోపం కాదు... ఇదొక తెలివైన దోపిడీ వ్యాపార విధానం!
