My cat, Justine Purrlander, and I watching the pitcher she was named after @JustinVerlander one final time. Go @Tigers!!
In a day and age when sports analytics are all the rage, why are we ignoring the most obvious stats?
Statistically, Jared Goff has been the best QB since 2023. Better than Mahomes, Allen, Lamar.
Yet the sports media ignores the stats because Goff doesn’t pass the “eye test.”
The only people “sleeping” on Jared Goff are the national media and the sports fans outside Detroit who they tell what to think. @Lions fans who watch Goff could tell you he’s been playing like this for the last few years. It’s nothing new.

While I appreciate that the national media is finally paying attention to what Jared Goff is doing in Detroit, why are we still calling him a “sleeper” MVP candidate when he’s quite literally having one of the best QB seasons of all-time? He should be at the top of the list!
SEVEN THINGS
🔹If this Chiefs loss spurs them to trade action, good
🔹There's a Jared Goff MVP case to be made
🔹And a Kevin Stefanski 3x COTY one, too
🔹Jonah Coleman hype
...and more!

My 3 greatest regrets as a sports fan:
1. @BarrySanders retiring early.
2. @DetroitPistons drafting Darko Milicic instead of Carmelo Anthony or Dwayne Wade.
3. Michigan forcing Jim Harbaugh out the door after winning a national championship instead of fighting to keep him around.
Maybe?
I’d rather have his dad back, but everyone else in his family is great at coaching: Jim, John, even Jack.
So why not Jay?
This isn’t rocket science. Do what Dan Campbell has done numerous times when he started calling plays himself but didn’t fire the OC until the offseason.
Contract buyout for Michigan football OC Jason Beck is hefty freep.com/story/sports/colle…

Ari, with all due respect…don’t speak for Michigan fans. We’re literally upset that the OC is the most stubborn and incompetent person that has ever walked this earth and the head coach is completely fine with it.
THE TEAM if it was coached properly and had even an average offense would be title contenders. Our anger has nothing to do with the TEAM.
I’m not saying Sherrone Moore is a good person, but if he could’ve kept his personal struggles to himself and not destroyed team chemistry, even with a mediocre coach like him, Michigan would be better right now.
Sherrone Moore notoriously called 32 consecutive running plays to close out a 24-15 victory over No. 9 Penn State who had the #2 ranked defense in the country 😆 🤣 😂
Jason Beck called a QB Bootleg on 3rd and inches for a TD 😆 🤣 😂
They are not the same
Spot on.
That's literally not what Michigan fans are upset about
Whittingham is correct - Michigan is a good football team. The issue isn't talent, it's really poor play calling on the offensive side of the ball.
Week after week, Michigan fans watch a talented offense play like shit and waste a defensive effort that gives this team every opportunity to win.
Good football team, bad coaching. That's what Michigan fans are upset about.
Would I say Larry Bird is a better basketball player than LeBron James?
On paper, no.
Would I take Larry Bird overLeBron James if I was building a team? Probably? He’s just a better fit in almost any lineup and meshes well with other stars.
You’re half right. Michigan should give Bryce Underwood another shot. But you’re wrong about Tommy Carr. The real problem is Jason Beck. Get rid of him and let Bryce and Tommy split QB duties until one emerges as the clear winner.
I really hope Bryce Underwood sticks around next year. I know he’ll probably transfer, but he’s such a good teammate and Jason Beck has been so bad it’s hard to tell just how bad Underwood actually was.
Exactly! I have no problem cleaning up after myself if I’m staying with a friend. But they don’t charge me for the room, let alone a cleaning fee to clean up after myself. So it’s not a fair comparison. They’re comparing apples and oranges.
All of the AirBnB drama boils down to the fact that hosts are running a >>norm arbitrage scheme to get better margin<<:
Hosts deliberately conflate two sets of norms:
1) socially, you're a treasured friend/family who tidies up after himself.
2) commercially, you're a customer who paid for housekeeping.
As a paying guest, you get the obligations of the first and the invoice of the second.
It has always bugged me. No bueno.
