“Before I let anyone take from me the Word of God and ask me to deny my God, I will kneel and let them strike off my head.”
It’s pronounced differently depending on what you put it in.
Even if she wins, the damages should be at most the cost of the hospital stay. In Texas and many other states you can surrender your newborn no questions asked.
Inject this straight into my veins.
My wife's brother spent six years at a Japanese car plant in Kentucky. He was sent to teach the Americans our way of working.
He came home with a notebook. On the cover, in Japanese: "Things I Learned Instead."
Some pages:
"The first day of deer season, half the line takes vacation. HR plans for it every year. Nobody pretends to be sick. They just say 'deer season.'"
"They name the machines. The welding robot on Line 2 is Darlene. Darlene gets a birthday cake."
"When someone's wife has a baby, the whole line signs a card. The card is bigger than the baby."
"A man with thirty years on the line showed me a better way to do my own job. Then he said, 'Don't tell your boss I told you that, boss.'"
"Every Friday, someone brings doughnuts. Nobody is assigned. Somebody always does."
"They thank the janitor by name. Every day. His name is Curtis."
The last page is from his final day.
In our system, anyone can stop the line, but only for a problem. Stopping it is serious.
"On my last day, the line stopped for one minute. There was no problem. They stopped it to shake my hand."
He says it's the only time in six years he was happy to see the line stop.
“But if you make citizenship requirements for voting you’re gonna deprive so many people of their right to vote!”
I literally just drove to a county health department today and got a copy of my birth certificate. It’s not that hard.
Might have a piece of metal in my eye. It was time to finally make a burn barrel. Cut the top off just fine, but then on the last air hole I was drilling something flew out and hit my eye and I can feel something moving around behind my eyelid. Should probably try and flush that out.
Some of these stop signs in the country really need to turn to yield signs after harvest. They’re making me stop like I can’t see a mile in every direction.
Places like this made American manufacturing possible, but they’re rapidly going out of business. Looks like this place has a bunch of younger employees and is keeping up with the times. Great to see.
Had to go down to Ohio and their county roads are confusing me. Half of them are letters and half are numbers. Surely there must be a better way.
The health screening I was supposed to go to today got turned into a virtual visit, but how do I join? Do I wait for them to call me? It was supposed to start 5 minutes ago...
In Malawi I ran into some aid workers who were doing this with chickens and goats. They came to the village I was in because the people there lived in far poorer conditions than the village they were helping, and they needed pictures for their pamphlets to help raise money.
My uncle did a mission trip to Africa to teach a village how to raise pigs for food.
They flew in with a bunch of pigs, built pens for them, Food and water troughs, and taught them how to breed them so they could always have meat. Two weeks of work and teaching.
They went back a year later to check on the village. They had thrown a giant party the night after my uncle left, slaughtered and ate all the pigs, sold the feeders and fencing, and were really pissed off that the mission didn't bring them more pigs.
You would not believe how hard I smashed the “New Ulm” option.
I was recently informed about the original first stanza to “Lord Keep Us Steadfast in Your Word” and we need to update all our hymnals yesterday.
