I just had to have this "Schooner Bag" for myself and of course ended up purchasing a bunch of them.
It's a really cool and unique item and I don't think anyone but me has them for individual sale.
$25, FREE SHIPPING. Purchase link in the next post.
Today's "shape-wear" has nothing on the OG version.
The silhouettes achieved with tight lacing and whalebone make our Kardashians look like amateurs.
The worst and most aggressive drivers I have ever encountered were during rush hour in Kansas City, KS, of all places.
You could feel the darkness and anger in their hearts.
Massachusetts drivers are also horrible, both inside and outside of their home state.
There will be many odd characters in heaven.
Kerouac, John Wayne, Ernst Junger, Oscar Wilde, Gary Cooper, Francisco Franco, Salazar, Al Capone.
Possibly even Julius Evola, Castro, and Mussolini, although these are more doubtful.
Jack Kerouac died on this day in 1969. He was 47.
Kerouac described On the Road as 'a story about two Catholic buddies roaming the country in search of God. And we found him. I found him in the sky, in Market Street San Francisco (those 2 visions), and Dean (Neal) had God sweating out of his forehead all the way. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY OUT FOR THE HOLY MAN: HE MUST SWEAT FOR GOD. And once he has found Him, the Godhood of God is forever Established and really must not be spoken about.'
Though many may ignore or overlook this aspect of Kerouac' oeuvre and life, and misinterpret his writings based on what they wish the text were saying, Kerouac was a Catholic, and almost every page of his diary has drawings of crosses, prayers, and appeals to Christ.
'He and I suddenly saw the whole country like an oyster for us to open; and the pearl was there, the pearl was there.'
Many replies to this post from Denverites.
Nearly all unpleasant, high cortisol personalities.
Bad vibes.
I think if I moved to California I would have to grow a long grey pony-tail and a big beard.
I think that would be sufficient to classify me as "grizzled Okie who is allowed to drive around in un-registered car."
Not worth hassling, no blood in that stone.
I wonder if Deming New Mexico would hire me as a Hype Man.
Drove 1400 miles over the last two days to check out Pecos, TX.
I was 100% right about the potential there. You can just feel it in the air.
That town is going to absolutely explode over the next decade. So much activity and optimism and money flowing in.
Every single thing I see there tells me that it’s *the* place for a young person trying to get rich to go live right now.
Whether you’re doing real estate development or opening a barbershop or starting a restaurant or a bar or an insurance agency, Pecos needs *everything*.
"zoning" freaks are so ideologically cucked and are fucking shit up for all of us. Life is better in every conceivable way with bars and restaurants that look like houses sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. It's part of what makes other countries feel "magical" to us.
My half brother had an interesting career.
With the 1st Armored in Germany during the Cold War, was enlisted from age 18 to 62!
When to Iraq after retirement to train the Iraqi army on Warsaw pact artillery.
Still employed some as a war gamer at 70, he plays as the Russians
One solution to the school bus driver shortage might be to put drivers on full time salary as a "driver-substitute teacher."
It would be an academic year job that paid similar to a teacher.
It's already often harder to hire a driver than it is to hire a teacher, since it prevents other full time employment but doesn't pay a full time wage, since it's not full time.
A young guy commented to me the other day that commercial driving was finished.
I think there is a nuance to that. The current terrible drivers are clearly "placeholders" for automation.
But very few zoomers are about that life. So once current middle aged guys retire, there might be an odd shortage in remaining human driving jobs like passenger, cattle hauling, deliveries into chaotic work sites, remote areas, etc.
Even if a bus or cattle truck can "autopilot" on the interstate, they will likely be manned for the foreseeable future.
It's already nearly impossible to hire school bus drivers, most districts are in a continual driver crisis.

The Muslim Brotherhood is not extremist, it is Islamist, and thus cannot even be placed on the Western ideological spectrum.
Islam is a ‘complete system’ that includes religion, governance, and law. There is no ‘render unto Caesar’ and Islam forbids the space between religion and government that liberalism requires to function.
This is a totally neutral, judgement-free description so I don’t even know what we’re doing here. Islam is non-compatible with liberalism and democracy and any good Islamist will tell you this.
There's something odd about @curtis_yarvin calling the Muslim Brotherhood extremist, considering that he himself disavows democracy and openly calls for the establishment of a monarchy in America. By any reasonable standard, he's an extremist in the American context.
You don't hear much about audiophiles these days.
It used to be that lots of people had at least some interest in all this.
Now it seems like music is earbuds or some little bluetooth speaker that has no particular sound quality, quite the opposite.
When I was twenty-one and I got an apartment I was like, maybe I want to be an audiophile. So I did a bunch of reading and then I found a $50 receiver at Goodwill, and then I bought two $200 towers and a subwoofer, and I ran the cable, and I was like, you know what, this sounds great, I don't need to go any deeper than this. And I stopped being an audiophile and just enjoyed music.

They had the support of much of the western tradition for this view tbf. The GOP Free Labor view was more bullish on productive work but still envisioned most people working *for themselves* : nobody in the 19th c. argued for a republic of wagies, even though that’s what we got.
Replying to @constans
The southern argument was that the ideal life was spent owning a plantation and that labor or the act of making or “doing” something “productive” was a lower form of existence you needed a slave caste for, and whites were relieved of this burden by having a black slave caste
Interestingly, in this scenario you really don't want to buy a house.
It works a lot better if you rent, even if you are paying for a very nice location.

Pointing this out makes a lot of people mad
The ship on the left versus right reveals the same problem
The ship on the left is beautiful and aesthetic. It has romance and spirit. The ship on the right outperforms it in every way. The older design is a toy by comparison. But when I look at it, I feel nothing. All carbon fiber and CNC milled forms, composites and polymers, there is barely an organic material or shape to found. It is wholly alien, a product of our industrial Singularity
It's way too early to call but it would be ironic if the purchase of Twitter *contributed* to a crushing mid-term loss, directly leading to the persecution of Elon himself.
People wonder how MAGA got this extremist, especially after Trump made huge inroads with minorities in 2024, and the answer is a lot more simple than we would like to think.
Ever since Elon acquired X, the incels got a bigger microphone. Guys who underachieve with women have extreme politics because they think government will fix all of their woes in life. It's why even Elon and Trump at time can't relate to the radicals in their base.
However, since they got the bigger microphone, they could influence politics and run their agenda more.
What was clamping down on illegal immigration turned into "remigration" of all minorities because if you get rid of all the Indians, Bubba from the boondocks can finally go work at OpenAI.
Suddenly, they wanted to repeal the 19th Amendment because if women cannot vote then that means Mr. Incel can finally have the government change to his favor and get that supermodel 18 year old virgin he feels entitled to.
Who can forget Fishback's hilarious run at governor of Florida and trying to impose a "Sin Tax" on OnlyFan girls?
The outcome? Entire communities that Trump won alienated and a Democrat landslide incoming.
A moderate amount of "Obamacare Planning" can often save people $30K a year, every year.
A few hours learning about income limits, and then 1-2 hours each year to apply.
Replying to @Empty_America
Depending on # of kids and SAHM it’s not difficult
2 kids is 80k, 3 is 100k 4 is 120k for MA income limits
Can manipulate income down with 401k/HSA/IRA by ~50k per year
Theoretically if you have 4 kids your household income could be 170k and kids+mom qualify for free insurance
