A decade of experience used to be the baseline for any serious hire.
@tobymather, co-founder of Rig, is filling roles with 21-year-olds who have none, then handing them real ownership on day one.
Today learning speed beats experience.
A beautiful education product for children, built by beautiful people. Can’t wait to see it launch.
We built the first generative learning world for kids. Designed to be safe, nurture curiosity and never feel like school: withmarble.com/
Opus Babies: a new breed of company. Born late 2025 or later. Not AI native but AGI native. Opus Babies are the first genetic change in the modern organisation. Tasks across disciplines will compress into teams of one and two. Elite pairs will replace squads of 8 (1/3)
(2/2) 18 months of work now done in 18 days. Hiring will focus on slope more than ever, but also on context-switching endurance, as parallel agent management becomes the principal skill of an Opus Baby employee, alongside architectural thinking and taste. open.substack.com/pub/delibe…
Please do come and see this wonderful show, Londoners

I haven't seen the film yet, but with lines like "Only Cillian Murphy, the Picasso of guilt, could take a void like the one in the middle of Oppenheimer and go through it, regret painted across his own features", Jo Livingstone you deserve a writing prize. Wonderful piece.
I think it’s fair to say that getting brutally blanked by universal and Cillian Murphy on interview requests made this consideration of his work a lot better roadmapmag.com/articles/the-…

We’re going to be in LA and San Francisco at the end of June-mid July. We would love to connect with more theatre makers/production companies out there so DM us if that’s you! Please RT/share! 🙏🎭
This by @polinaivanovva is the most unsettling and most important piece of writing I've read this year. Since late 19C, Russian artists has been divided into two camps: conforming 'poputchiki', vs those who quietly, or loudly, resist. Here we are again. on.ft.com/3JT2Rbr
Genuine question: has anyone working at a startup every _actually_ said they wished they had an MBA?
Huge applause in the chamber when @Jeremy_Hunt announced more money for beer and potholes, but muted response to mention of the HSBC/SVB rescue. Luckily Hunt, unlike the wider MP base, understood the potential disastrous impact of SVB deposits being lost for the future of UK tech
We strongly echo this sentiment.
I look forward to working with @HSBC_UK and am sure I speak for the entire UK sector in saying THANK YOU to the civil service team who probably haven’t slept since Friday to make this happen.

There’s relief for UK tech firms after HSBC agreed to buy the UK arm of Silicon Valley Bank.
The US bank collapsed over the weekend @tobymather, CEO of @LingumiLabs, which has money in SVB, says it’s a great relief.

The Government deserves huge credit. From the very top, to HM Treasury who understood the challenge and gripped it, to the PRA, to the huge number of civil servants who have likely not slept since Friday. They have saved hundreds of the UK’s most innovative companies today.
Enormous respect and appreciation for @hmtreasury and @bankofengland teams this morning - and great relief felt by the UK tech sector - for their tireless weekend work to facilitate purchase of SVB by @HSBC. This was an extinction risk weekend for a huge % of UK startups.

Once the dust has settled, it will be clear this is a huge win for @HSBC_UK: already important players in tech, but now have a client list of many of the most exciting UK startups (all of whom are feeling very grateful this morning!)
