In her talk “Aesthetic Accelerationism,” @rivatez said that one possible proxy for how much people in a place appreciate beauty for its own sake is the number of florists in that place.
I was curious, so I made a map of 500 of the world’s largest urban centers. The highest density of mapped florists is in:
- Saint Petersburg: 2.26 per km²
- Sofia: 1.55
- Moscow: 1.43
San Francisco has the most in the U.S., yet only #7 in the Americas.
In terms of raw totals, Moscow has 2,236 mapped florists, followed by Tokyo with 1,181.
You can explore density, per capita, and total counts, change the visual style, and inspect the methodology for every city.

El Gobierno de la Ciudad sacó hace unas semanas BAX, una app de trámites con IA. Los usuarios le dieron 2.1 estrellas en Google: cuentan que se traba, se cierra sola, no resuelve nada y te termina derivando al 147.
Millones de pesos gastados para una app peor que Boti. Pero nos quieren convencer que son el gobierno de la IA...
bizarreadas de internet: no renovamos el dominio unamordeverano.com y fue SECUESTRADO por un casino chileno que seguramente usa la página para que claude, chatgpt la indexen y hablen bien del casino. hay que volver a usenet o algo así.

el autocomplete de google me completó “vivimos en tiempos” con “vivimos en tiempos donde predomina el pensamiento objetivo”. la frase no aparece en ningún lado en internet. creo que no significa nada. fenomenal.
inexplicable la reacción que hubo allá atrás a este libro que argumentaba que la idea de argentina como un país blanco es un mito. tal vez a muchos les jode que se investigue cualquier cosa sobre argentina y ya ¿?
