Milton Friedman on how the welfare system strips people of their independence and dignity: “The people who get on welfare lose their human independence and feeling of dignity. They become subject to the dictates and whims of their welfare supervisor.” “They’re treated like children, not like responsible adults, and they’re trapped in the system. Maybe a job comes up that looks better than welfare, but they’re afraid to take it because if they lose it after a few months, it may be six months or nine months before they can get back on to welfare.” “As a result, this becomes a self-perpetuating cycle, rather than simply a temporary state of affairs.”

A lot of people want to see you fail to justify the risks they chose not to take. Remove them from your life, ruthlessly.

If you have no children or desire to have them. Saying you care for the future of climate change is pure virtue signalling, or at best ignorance. You have no vested interest in the future.

As Thatcher said, the problem with socialism is that eventually they run out of other people’s money to take and they come for you

Remember the days where ESG was in fashion and career-chasers took 4-5 figure courses to become certified consultants. Then those implementing ESG didn't like the Governance part as it meant accountability. The Social part was dropped because no one could explain that part convincingly and it wasn't the real meat or point. Of course the money part, Environmental, was kept.

War is a continuation of politics by other means. The prelude for WWI stewed for years as countries prepared their populations through rhetoric while militarizing. The match was an assasination. The stage for WWII was fostered through the Treaty of Versailles written to humiliated the loser and not with peace as the main goal. Let's learn from history and not repeat the same mistakes.

‼️ Hackers Exploit Palo Alto VPN Flaw to Bypass MFA & Steal Credentials From VMware Disks Details: cybersecuritynews.com/palo-a… Ransomware operators are exploiting a Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect VPN flaw to bypass multi-factor authentication and enter corporate networks. In one investigated case, attackers reached VMware management systems and stole credentials directly from a domain controller’s virtual disk, avoiding security tools running inside the virtual machine. Researchers linked exploitation of CVE-2026-0257 to Spikey Scorpius, also known as Qilin, and Tarnished Scorpius, also known as Inc. Separate public reporting connected exploitation to operators using Settra ransomware. #cybersecuritynews

If citizens don't feel they have a vested interest in the future of a country, then the focus is taking not contributing. That being said, not too long ago we had a phrase "Leadership by example". Skin in the game has to be shared across all spectrum of society.

Have we not learnt from history that there is no winning in war?
