The market hasn't been oversold this bad since COVID crash of 2020. Arguably market was not expecting another war and it is getting priced in. No one knows, what will be the consequences of US Iran conflict and when will the Crude price stabilize? Similar sentiments were there in 2020, when global lockdown happened during Covid. That time it seemed most businesses would shut or report huge losses. What actually followed was longest bull run in recent times, exceeding the expectations of all and sundry. Those who were pessimistic paid huge opportunity cost that time. Stock price would always follow the earnings growth momentum, come want may. With at least 2 year time frame, this fall is another great opportunity to accumulate quality companies with PEG ratio of around 0.5. Many opportunities exist in this range today. Lastly, I will not be biased this time that only small caps can generate alpha. I am not ignoring quality mid and large caps.

Windlas Biotech revenue grew 18.1% YoY to a record ₹248.10 Cr, but EBITDA margin compressed 187 bps to 10.76% due to employee cost escalation, leaving PAT flat. The company also received a credit rating upgrade, while the upcoming Plant-6 commercialisation remains a key catalyst to watch. Q1FY27 Earnings Call summary 👇
Windlas Biotech – Q1 FY27 Earnings Call Summary Last Post for today..😇😅 1. CDMO Growth: Strong Q1, Largely Volume-Driven Generic Formulations CDMO delivered 29% YoY growth in Q1 FY27, with management clarifying that the sharp growth should not be extrapolated as a new quarterly run-rate. Growth was predominantly volume-led, with only a minimal contribution from API price movements. The strong quarter reflected a higher concentration of pipeline/business conversions coming through in Q1, rather than any major structural change in demand. Injectables have been contributing for several quarters and were not the sole reason for the Q1 spike. ( slow ramp-up , I expected more discussion on this part as it can key earninsg driver in next phase of growth ) Management highlighted that the long-term CDMO growth drivers remain intact, supported by portfolio expansion, customer additions and volume growth. Recent 3.4% IPM volume growth is viewed positively, as higher volumes at customers directly translate into higher manufacturing volumes for Windlas. 2. Trade Generics: Temporary Disruption from Codeine Exit; Recovery Through Execution Trade Generics (TGx) and Institutional revenues have remained broadly in the ₹=30–35 crore quarterly range, with the business also affected by the discontinuation of codeine-based cough syrups. Management expects the codeine-related revenue disruption to be temporary, but has not provided any specific growth guidance once the business lapses from the base. The replacement strategy is not a one-for-one substitution of codeine products. Instead, Windlas is expanding its portfolio of non-codeine cough syrups and pack sizes while using a broader 150–200 SKU basket approach. ( there wil be gradual recovery , My view) The recovery strategy rests on three key levers:SKU expansion – significant headroom remains within the existing 150–200 SKU basket. Geographical expansion – entry into new states and deeper penetration of existing markets; new sales teams require a period of “nucleation” before meaningful revenue contribution. Execution hygiene – improving sales, supply and operational execution. Additional focus is on adding institutional accounts and realigning the internal sales organisation. 3. Exports: Strong Long-Term Opportunity, but High Gestation Exports continue to be viewed as a large structural growth opportunity, although revenue conversion is inherently lumpy due to regulatory approvals, registrations and customer onboarding. Key growth catalysts over the next 2–3 years include: - Entry into new geographies - Addition of new products/portfolios - Obtaining plant approvals - Ongoing customer audits and regulatory registrations Windlas has active registration and dossier work underway across multiple markets, but management is not disclosing specific target markets or dossier pipelines due to competitive sensitivity. Previously secured approvals in markets such as South Africa and the Philippines provide a foundation, while further market expansion remains underway. 4. Plant-6: Commercialisation by End-Q2/H1 FY27 Mechanical completion of Plant-6 is complete, with validations and customer audits currently underway. Commercialisation is targeted for late September / end-Q2 FY27, with a possible ~15-day variance. Unlike the injectables expansion, Plant-6 is an extension of Windlas's core oral solid dosage (OSD) business, reducing execution and learning-curve risks. Existing products can immediately be offered from the additional approved capacity, allowing customers to scale volumes and portfolios. Partial depreciation is expected from Q2 Plant-6 provides a comfortable revenue runway towards approximately ₹1,100 crore. 5. Capacity Utilisation & Future Capex: Sweat Existing Assets First Current utilisation is around 60–65%, which management considers the typical peak operating range, although it can be stretched to ~70% in certain circumstances. Beyond the ₹1,100 crore Plant-6 revenue potential, management sees another ₹100–150 crore of revenue opportunity through: Manufacturing efficiencies Packing optimisation Dynamic debottlenecking Localised capex of approximately ₹12–15 crore annually Some Plant-6 machinery has already been deployed in existing Plant-2/extension areas to support the recent increase in production. Management intends to maximise utilisation and sweat existing assets before committing to large-scale greenfield expansion. For a brownfield OSD facility compliant with the new Schedule M, the estimated timeline from planning to commercialisation is approximately one year. Management remains firmly against building large "jumbo' capacities ahead of demand, citing risks of high fixed costs, working-capital pressure, lower cash returns and weaker pricing power. The preferred approach is incremental, demand-led capacity expansion. 6. Injectables: Scaling Gradually; Second Line Under Evaluation The injectables business is now reasonably on track following a slower initial ramp-up. Customer validations, feedback and active enquiries are progressing positively. The supporting infrastructure for a second line- including cleanrooms, water systems and AHUs- is already in place. If expansion is triggered, the second line could be brought online in approximately 6–8 months, including machinery ordering, qualification and commissioning. Management is evaluating whether to use the available infrastructure for straight capacity expansion or new product/variant additions. 7. API Prices & Margins: Q1 Growth Not Driven by Pricing API prices remained volatile, influenced by crude price movements and geopolitical developments in West Asia. Under Windlas's cost-plus partnership model, API price movements are transparently managed with customers rather than used to generate speculative margin gains. The company may temporarily benefit from lower-cost inventory or absorb/transfer higher costs depending on market conditions. Management therefore considers the net impact of API price movements on Q1 revenue to be effectively unknown, while reiterating that the majority of growth was volume-driven. Historically, customers have also supported Windlas when API prices declined sharply, helping the company protect margins. 8. Working Capital & Cost Structure Net operating working capital remained stable at the end of Q1. During the quarter, geopolitical uncertainty led to temporarily higher inventory and some increase in receivable days; both have since normalised. Employee costs, excluding non-cash ESOP charges, increased 17% YoY, driven by:Annual salary increments Higher contractual manpower requirements to support volume growth Retrospective implementation of a minimum-wage increase in Uttarakhand 9. Demand Environment: No Major Structural Shift Management does not see any significant change in therapeutic demand or dosage-form trends driving Q1. The strong quarter was primarily a result of multiple ongoing CDMO and export business-conversion initiatives moving into active revenue simultaneously. The recent improvement in IPM volume growth to 3.4% is encouraging, particularly because Windlas is more directly exposed to volume than pricing as a CDMO player. That's it for this post folks , Hope it was insightful...

The Mutual Fund portfolio has been on a roll since last two weeks. It should make all time high, if market remains good on Muhurat day trading. While individual equity portfolio with 80% exposure to small caps has been volatile. Some very good days and some bad days.

Prizor Concall important answers by management H1 results were steller with almost 150% revenue and 300% PAT growth
Prizor concall done, all 4 questions answered- 1. Will margins shrink gonna happen because of new players(jio, godrej, havells) entry? Answer: New entrants start with basic cameras and need 3-5 years, Prizor is already adding AI on its basic cameras plus CCTV buyers lean on established brands, some large brands that entered earlier failed. Distribution built over nearly 10 years, strong procurement through direct SoC deals. So.. no margins shrink as of now H2 margins expected in the same range as H1. 2. Will global chip shortage & price hike make any issues? Answer: Global raw material shortages persist. Input cost increases are passed on to selling price. growth can exceed this if supply eases & Peak season is Q3 and Q4, with Q4 the highest. 3. Government did mandatory cctv installation in restaurants. So how much this gonna help to surveillance sector. Answer- This question not asked. Apart from this prizor intoduced new products this fy- car dash cameras, video door phones, pocket cameras, access control systems.
