The movie of all this is going to be amazing, a split screen of Generative AI agents crippling the infrastructure of society while the companies race towards their IPOs. I look forward to Matt Damon playing me, screaming into the void.

Was on the fence with iPhone Duo. But will definitely pass on the $2,000 phone after it failed: ▫️dirt test (gets stuck in hinge and magnetic closing doesn’t work) ▫️lighter test (inner screen can’t handle 10 seconds of direct flame) ▫️bend test (OLED screen gets line defect)

Wake up!!! @azeem is calling all these hacks “AI’s Wuhan moment”. Marc Benioff called it a code red. And it is clear it is all going to get worse. Yet the AI companies insist on shipping obviously dangerous products. Meanwhile the U.S. government lacks the will and/or competence to do anything about it. We are on an express train to hell. Tell your congress people to temporarily ban AI agents, or brace for impact.

We should give them full control over the EU for a few years and a lot of things would drastically improve

Diddy spent $1.5 MILLION on a party—then Jamie Foxx told him he could throw one just as good for $400, and Diddy got pissed. Foxx tells the whole story here. He called around 200 of the coolest people he knew, put KFC on nice plates, and poured Coca-Cola into a pitcher. Diddy rolled up with SUVs and an entourage. He walked inside, started recognizing people, and told Foxx how great the party was. That’s when Jamie pointed at the dinner table and explained exactly where the money had gone—and how little he’d spent so far. The running total is the punchline. Foxx delivering it in his Diddy impression makes this even better.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to use… models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can do… hardware-level, insane stuff… I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs." It's over.

if steve jobs saw you reserving 15% screen width for a single icon and then putting a left side arrow back button on the unreachable right side of the screen he would've personally taken you behind a dumpster and beat you with a metal pipe

Elon Musk reveals he checked Anthropic for "evil" before renting them his compute "We are providing them with compute, which they really needed. But before I rented them compute, I went and met with a bunch of people at Anthropic to see if anyone set off my evil detector. Not that my evil detector is perfect, of course" "Everyone I met at Anthropic was very nice and conscientious. I didn’t meet anyone who seemed shady or deceptive" "I'm a little worried about the name, because reality being kind of an irony maximizer, if you call something Anthropic, good chance it’s misanthropic. Stability AI is unstable. Midjourney is not mid. It seems like they’re all kind of the opposite of their name"
Elon Musk admits there have been times he thought Larry Page was right about AI Walter Isaacson: "Does that mean humans should always be in control?" Elon Musk: "I’d probably prefer it if humans were always in control. Although it would depend on the AI. If the AI was awesome, you’d say maybe the AI should be in control" Walter Isaacson: "I saw Larry Page just a weekend ago. You’re starting to sound like him. He called you a speciesist once for deciding humans should always be in control" Elon Musk: "Honestly, there have been a few times where I thought, yeah, maybe Larry Page was right. I think pretty much the future is going to be AI and robots deciding the future"
