Been a type user for over a year now, can’t stress how convenient of a tool it is. Makes writing fun
Every person has a story to tell, and AI can help them tell it. We're seeing this firsthand at @typedotai. We now serve writers ranging from NY Times bestsellers, to top 10 podcasters, to nearly 10k passionate independent authors. We've been ~doubling revenue each quarter and active subscribers now spend 7+hours/week in our editor. So we made this video to honor the intensely creative people we serve. Here's to the storytellers :)

I get a first-person view of the @typedotai team by sharing an office with @stewfortier & the team The care taken serving authors (and resultant growth!!) has been remarkable to witness. Bravo!

there's a really fuzzy line between augmenting and replacing human creativity. helping unlock the story someone has to tell verses replacing it. type does the best job i've seen of any ai tool honoring the sacredness of human story telling whilst promoting the telling of it

Chat attachments + Claude 3.7 Sonnet are live 🎉
New in @typedotai: You can now attach your brand guidelines, website, content briefs, writing samples, etc. to get targeted writing & editing help inside Type. We'd been waiting for a model with the right mix of intelligence + vibes to nail this – and, boom: @AnthropicAI's 3.7 Sonnet hit the mark. Here's a lil' demo:

Welcome! 🎉
Just signed up for @typedotai in my continued quest to find the right AI writing tool for me. Admittedly, I've been more frustrated than delighted by the big LLMs. I have a lot of respect for @stewfortier as a founder/builder, so excited to give it a go! And congrats on that client list [tips hat]

I like using Type as a quick AI writing assistant for research and for help writing formal research reports. -I have used it for over a year. -If you have an issue, just reach out to Stew and team and they'll take care of you. -I mostly use it as a guide for sentence structure/formatting of ideas. (I have no relationship with this company other than knowing Stew for years, and the tool works just fine.)
New in @typedotai: AI suggested edits! A faster way to edit your writing using AI. How it works: 1. You write something 2. You highlight what you want to improve 3. The AI suggests edits directly inline 4. You accept/reject edits individually, or all at once We also added: • Keyboard shortcuts for quickly viewing, accepting, and rejecting edits • Pre-defined prompts for common editing tasks (Improve, Fix Grammar, Shorten, etc.) • An easy way to save and run custom editing prompts The @typedotai customers who have used this feature report that they're editing 1.4 trillion faster than ever before. For legal reasons, I can't endorse this statement but as a private citizen I totally believe it 100%. The open secret about AI and writing is this: LLMs are often better at improving something you've written than writing something from scratch. But it's up to you – the expert with killer taste and a vision – to decide what changes are worthy. You can try AI suggested edits today in @typedotai. Let us know what you think!

This will be a wonderful job for someone. Maybe it's you?
Conventional wisdom right now seems to be that writers are doomed, SEO is dead, and cheap talent can just fill the gap between now and GPT-7. We are calling that bluff and placing a big bet in the opposite direction. We're hiring a full-time writer to join us as employee #2 at Type. Writers, please read on... THE JOB: Writer & Content Lead COMP RANGE: $100,000-125,000 salary + equity WHERE YOU'LL WORK: In-person in NYC (we're in Williamsburg) WHAT YOU'LL DO ALL DAY: – write fun, thoughtful posts that teach people about AI, writing, and the best writing product on the market – talk to Type customers to identify the things we should write about next – rewrite our onboarding emails and make my jokes funnier – script and shoot videos for our YT channel REQUIREMENTS: – you write things that are a joy to read – you are curious / passionate about AI – you mentally edit most things you read: subway ads, billboards, this tweet, etc. – you're the go-to person for all your friends & family when they need writing help NICE TO HAVES: – basic familiarity with design tools like Figma or Canva – you're comfortable speaking in front of a camera We can teach the "nice-to-have's," so the most important thing is that you love writing and you're very good at it. You also need to be able to get obsessed with our product – so click the link in my bio, check out what we're building, and ask yourself if it speaks to you. Also - we think great writing talent can come from anywhere, so we encourage people with non-traditional backgrounds to apply. TO APPLY: Please DM or email me a couple of writing samples. The best writing samples will make us feel something. Curiosity, delight, awe, surprise, joy, sorrow – whatever, just *something*. My email is my first name at type dot ai. Even if we're wrong and GPT-7 makes all writers obsolete, we're going to have a ton of fun until then - so please consider joining us. THANK YOU.
