There is no such thing as an "English" breakfast. Sausages are made of atoms, formed a few millionths of a second after the big bang from quarks, 13.7 billion years ago.
The economics are irrelevant. They despise us, hate that we got one over them and want payback. That’s all. Butthurt losers.
'Leaving the European Union was the biggest act of economic self harm any country has ever committed'
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, told #BBCBreakfast Andy Burnham 'is spot on' about having an "honest discussion" ove the prospect of returning to free movement between the UK and European Union

The environmental schtick of calling everything that isn’t a car “human powered transit” has naturally lead to the assumption that bikes and walking are the same and can share spaces.
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount.
Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success.

It's a contemporary British brand: 'young, rugged men with a cruel streak' will still work fine. The challenge would be to place the character outside the MI6/Etonian frame. A Slow Horses shabbiness? A state school brute?

Lowden is a lowkey magnificent actor, there’s great potential for a “novice” Bond. Also: a 50s/60s setting?!
I really need to know the character’s name. And which Bond!
40 yrs ago I was called into Cubby Broccoli’s office to audition for James Bond. ‘Exciting’ I thought, until I got there & saw the script. I wasn’t James, I was a CIA agent who slept with James twice in the first afternoon, possibly six times the following morning … #jamesbond

Such a good point 🤣🤣
You know we’re fucked when @GeoffNorcott does Question Time and Andeh Burnham does Gogglebox.
I’m very curious to see this. The Dictator seemed irrelevant when it came out. It seems like a masterpiece now.
My review of Ali G: Who Iz I? (dir. Sacha Baron Cohen) is up here: theguardian.com/film/2026/oc…
For all the talk of a different direction, they are still concentrating on young, rugged men with a cruel streak. Good/bad. If it’s possible to be “true to the source” of Bond at all now (?), this is it. But it also means he has the potential to a pointless man out of time.
Alastair Campbell is showing a little to much psychoholism.
Alastair Campbell thinks a made-up word can save us all. I reviewed his new book on "persevilience" for @Unherd
