I often get asked why do Indians incorporate fully indian companies in the US? Capital availability, market size etc aside, the simple answer is that because it’s easier for two guys sitting in Bangalore to incorporate a Delaware entity and get a US bank account (2-3 days) than it is for them to incorporate a Pvt Ltd Co on MCA portal and get a Corporate Bank account (2-3 weeks), even if the bank account branch is literally in the same building as them.

You need a deep state or permanent establishment or six wise men. teapaw.org/jackprandelli/status/2…
Fertilizer through Hormuz has dropped to zero. No fertilizer cargoes crossing the strait in September or October. Before the war, about 20% of the world’s traded nitrogen fertilizer went through it, Fertilizer Daily reports. The Gulf also supplies about half of the world’s traded sulfur. Hear me out: urea isn’t the problem. China raised its nitrogen exports about 47% and the US about 60%. By the end of August urea was back to its January price, IFPRI data shows. Sulfur is the problem. It has more than doubled, to above $1,000 a tonne, and phosphate is up 25–30%. You need sulfur to make phosphate fertilizer. Mosaic has idled two Louisiana plants, and India’s fertilizer subsidy bill could pass 3 trillion rupees, against 1.71 trillion budgeted. Oil found other ways out of the Gulf. Sulfur hasn’t. source: World Visualized

Excuse Italian skipper Giasanta Facetti gave after losing to N Korea in 1966. Apparently N Korea changed entire team in half time. As all Koreans look alike, it went undetected.

Dravid was in the right. teapaw.org/cricketplusmeme/status…
Rahul Dravid DECLARED India's Innings When Sachin Tendulkar Was Just 6 Runs Away From a Double Century. During India's 2004 Test against Pakistan in Multan, Sachin Tendulkar was batting on 194 when captain Rahul Dravid declared the innings. Sachin was left stranded just 6 runs short of his double century, and the decision shocked fans and several people in the Indian dressing room. - Virender Sehwag had already smashed 309 runs, becoming the first Indian to score a Test triple century. - Sourav Ganguly was injured, so Dravid was leading the side. - Sachin later expressed his disappointment over missing the milestone. - Australia's Ricky Ponting also said he would not have declared with his batter on 194. Dravid's decision was about giving India enough time to bowl Pakistan out, but the timing of the declaration remains controversial. Was Rahul Dravid right to prioritise the team's victory, or was leaving Sachin just 6 runs short of a double century an unnecessary decision ??..

Maureen Dowd’s column exposes how Natalie Harp used her access to knife Susie Wiles—showing Trump the Politico Playbook story about Wiles’s daughter profiting from lobbying for Republika Srpska (a pro-Russian Bosnian Serb territory). But Wiles didn't panic; she let television do her dirty work. When Zacharia was tossed onto Hannity, assuming she was in friendly territory, Hannity ambushed her over her fake attorney claims and 14-minute disaster debut. Within 24 hours, Trump showed Zacharia the door, advising her to "reconsider" her job. Dowd chronicles a single, breathtaking week of White House corruption and incompetence: •Kimberly Guilfoyle getting fired as ambassador to Greece after shaking down a donor to pay her $100,000 AmEx bill. •Ric Grenell and Alina Habba Mildon fighting over $5.6 million in misallocated Kennedy Center funds. •Pete Hegseth getting shut down over his "nitwit plan" to livestream a military firing squad execution on Twitch. •Volodymyr Zelenskyy calling out Trump's "sordid deal" with Vladimir Putin over Russian diesel while White House directives throttle Ukraine's Starshield connectivity. “Instead of running the country and dealing with the world he has set on fire, Trump is focused on settling petty squabbles and a web of corruption in his incompetent—and dangerous—court.” Trump’s bubble is getting smaller, more ingrown, and more fractious, leaving an exhausted public to watch an empire bicker over its own demise. nytimes.com/2026/10/17/opini…

Wearing a “Dhoti” - Lessons learned in Kerala, India When I design a project, I immerse myself in the place. The food, the customs, and the clothes. In Kerala India, the “Dhoti” is what Men wear, so I wore it as well. I wore the Dhoti for years, learning how to tie it so it would not fall down in public exposing my private world, learning how to walk in it, how to raise fold and raise it, etc. Then one day a good friend says to me “Damon, you know Indians wear underwear under their Dhoti right?” WHOOPS!!!!! I did not know that!!!!! So, for years I wore a Dhoti with no underwear (I was used to wearing a Burmese lyungyi, which no underwear is required), and realized that the Dhoti fabric is so thin……everyone could kind of see everything!!!!! Again……WHOOPS!!!!!! From that day on…..I always wore underwear under my Dhoti. * Dhoti : a traditional unstitched lower garment for men in the Indian subcontinent. It consists of a rectangular piece of cloth, typically about 4–5 yards (roughly 3.7–4.5 meters) long, wrapped around the waist and legs and secured with a knot or tuck. Picture is myself in my Dhoti, and my daughter Satya in Kozikode. #travel #India #Kerala

In 2010, Dutch mathematician Hans Zantema submitted a problem to the International Mathematical Olympiad inspired by his research in theoretical computer science. It involved six boxes, each initially containing just one coin. Contestants could move, double, and rearrange coins according to two simple rules. The challenge was to finish with an unimaginably large number of coins in the final box. The most interesting part of the story is that the original problem was already difficult, but the Olympiad organizers made the target number vastly larger before selecting it for the competition. We know this because Zantema himself explained the problem's origins in 2011.

“As a youngster, I was told to cut pace. They told me if I keep hurling the ball like this, I will not play more than 1 year but I went on to play 10 years of domestic cricket and even represented India. If you have pace, you shouldn’t compromise.” - David Johnson Born #OnThisDay in 1971. Played 2 Test for India.

In Australia, Perth and Brisbane pitches were something else. Three WACA centuries of Gavaskar, Amarnath and SRT probably would rank higher than other Indian efforts in Australia. teapaw.org/DasCapital8/status/211…
This is the thing 180 was a par score in Australia in early 90s for ODI Can't compare that to today's 300/400 days In ODI cricket, Viv stands untouchable in that regard, then Sachin

Interesting: India's Chip manufacturing capabilities (2026) Silicon purification ❌ Crystal growth ❌ Wafer fabrication ❌ Oxidation ❌ Thin-film deposition ❌ Photolithography ❌ Etching ❌ Ion implantation ❌ Annealing ❌ Chemical mechanical Metallization ✅ Wafer testing ✅ Dicing ❌ Advanced packaging ✅ Final testing ✅ Of the 14 key processes today India has the capabilities in 4 of them Unless it is capable of all 14 - it cannot establish a Chip ecosystem It can only create a niche in Water Testing, Advanced Packaging & Final Testing

America has a manufacturing problem. Correct diagnosis. Prototyping is the solution? Wrong. That was never the hard part. Mass production and capacity? Sounds smarter, but high-volume manufacturing is a solved playbook once demand justifies the investment. The real problem everyone keeps dancing around is the missing middle: making hundreds to thousands of complex parts fast, affordably, and without spending a fortune on bad unit economics. Prototypes make headlines. Mass production makes incumbents richer. The missing middle is where the next generation of American industry gets built.
