We are all pedestrians at some point.
According to #Roadsafety Status Report, most people identify as pedestrians & public transport users, yet only 47 countries have policies to promote walking, cycling, and public transport.

New @WHO report on #RoadSafety gives some cause for celebration – 5% ↓ in deaths (16% ↓ in death rates) since 2010, despite doubling of vehicle fleet & population increasing by 1 billion.
This should give us energy to redouble efforts. #RethinkMobility

Today @who launched the Global Status Report on Road Safety. Even though we have seen a decrease in road deaths in this period, 92% of these occur in low and middle income countries.
There is an urgent need to mobilize resources to address safe mobility.
Every minute more than 2 road traffic deaths occur. That's over 3200 per day.
23% of the yearly 1.19 million deaths are pedestrians.
🚦 Despite notable progress road safety remains an urgent global issue ⛔️
