imagine his reward in heaven for obstructing law enforcement while dropping bangers like these.

Just saw the Elizabeth Holmes movie. It's a deeply inventive film & fascinating character study. But I represented clients in the Theranos investigation, and in case anyone got sucked in by the deliberate cinematic ambiguity: she was responsible for a massive fraud. Hard stop.
jack donaghy "lemon, this generation doesn't know the classics. they need to understand the reach of the american dream. that a man can be anything."

gonna resurrect the founding fathers just to tell them the american pope is voting in congressional elections
NEW: Pope Leo XIV is set to become the first sitting pontiff in the Catholic Church’s two-thousand-year history to vote in a secular election.
Leo requested an Illinois mail ballot on Oct. 3, and it was sent to his brother John’s home in New Lenox, Ill.
John Prevost visited the pope at the Vatican on Wednesday and may now be carrying the ballot back to the Will County clerk by hand. thelettersfromleo.com/p/pope…
i have 2 young kids and got VIP festival tickets this year. went with my 2 best friends, shared a hotel, had a blast at disneyland.
husband just said "bye, have fun with the girls!" like he does for every yearly girls trip.
parenting is hard, give your partner a break!
When I was a kid in the 80s, my mom had a big group of friends she took a girls’ trip with every summer. Just a weekend away, a couple hours from home in Michigan - 8 women sharing 4 beds in 2 adjoining hotel rooms, because they were all working class broads with bills to pay and kids to feed. But they did it. Every year. In 1995, my mom died - the 1st among them. The other 7 kept going. Another passed around 2008ish. The other 6 kept going. 2 more passed in quick succession in 2018. The remaining 4 kept going. Another passed 2 years ago. There are 3 left - all in their early-to-mid 70s now - and they still go. I’m only in touch with one of them anymore, and I see her pictures online every year, and I just wanna say with my whole chest that I think this is fucking fabulous and I feel really fucking fortunate to have a similar group of girlfriends who know how to have fun, prioritize doing it, and are game to do it sans spouses & kids.
And I really think some people should get outta their heads and outta their homes and do this sort of shit more often.
my mom was recruited by theranos. she's a 20+yr clinical lab scientist at Stanford Blood Bank.
we'd be living a completely different reality if she went through with it.
it'd be impossible for me to watch YCSE and not be incandescent with rage for her victims.

YOU'RE BORN. YOU SEE PANTS STYLES GO FROM BAGGY TO SKINNY BACK TO BAGGY EVERY 10 YEARS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. YOU DIE. THE END
and how will the club staff get home
My experience partying all night at Berghain in Berlin made me think of how we're lacking this experience in the San Francisco tech scene. We can literally become the coolest, most tasteful social scene on Earth if we had our version of Berghain, but better. So let's build it. The best aspect of Berhain is how they select who gets in. The club has a vibe and atmosphere, and if you aren't wearing the right clothes or have the right demeanor, you don't get in. That's how you cultivate a tasteful crowd. We can improve on this by only letting in high agency, talented operators in the tech scene who can still pull off dope outfits, so no geeks. SF is in dire need of late night venues, and Berghain goes until 8am. That's a little too crazy for high net worth operators who are changing the world so we could do something like 2am. Berghain also is kinda dark and in a weird building so we'd put the club in a SoMa corporate office that we convert to speakeasy or barcade vibe. Maybe add a quiet area for people to bring their laptops and work? I honestly feel like we're improving on the Berghain form here, especially by swapping out the crowd of weird partiers in inappropriate clothes (or lack there of) with insanely cracked founders and engineers. I'm super stoked about this idea, SF tech could really run the dopest parties on the planet.
