Pinned down by heavy fire that killed his commander, Harold A. Furlong crossed hundreds of yards of open ground near Bantheville, France, on Nov. 1, 1918. He single-handedly silenced 4 machine gun nests, neutralized the gun crews with his rifle, and captured 20 prisoners. Furlong, a Michigan native, earned the Medal of Honor.

Now thats quite a family tree of sorts!
The Big Belly Oak, a famous historical sessile oak tree located beside the A346 road in Savernake Forest, Wiltshire, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 Estimated to be between 1000-1100 years old, meaning it was already growing around the time of the Norman Conquest in 1066. It has a massive girth of 11.18m measured at a height of 1.20m. Its wide, hollow "belly" shape is largely the result of historical pollarding (a traditional tree management practice). Named one of the 50 Great British Trees in 2002 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee. #drthehistories
