Mr Salve has raised pertinent questions on rise & fall of #PIL wherein Courts are increasingly being asked to intrude into the Executive domain. However, intervention of #Judiciary in genuine matters of Public & National Interest always needed as said by Mr Aspi Chinoy #CASC 1/2

Kochi Hit & Run Case Although Article 14 guarantees equality before the law and equal protection of the laws, we see that an Additional Sessions Judge, has been given protection by the Kerala High Court. This is very unfair... It clearly shows that the laws are made only to be violated by the rich and powerful: @abhasinghlawyer in conversation with @HeenaGambhir What can common people like us expect when the accused happens to be a judicial officer?: @vikramsingh112

Kochi Hit & Run Case The police are giving the judge time to approach the High Court and obtain anticipatory bail... That is not how the law was intended to work. There has to be deterrence. It should serve as a lesson to parents and adults: @abhasinghlawyer in conversation with @HeenaGambhir If deterrent action is not taken, it will reflect poorly on the judiciary... Unless the judge is arrested, the ends of justice will not be met: @vikramsingh112

And yet some leaders & parties repeatedly demanded restoration of Article 370. Parties in J&K may have vested political interests but mainstream national parties? Defies logic. Nothing justified Article 370 imposition in the first place & nothing justifies seeking its restoration
Revocation of Article 370 proved to be the right action. Violence decreased, tourism increased, infrastructure and projects expanded, and the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir improved drastically?

Lots to complain about Indian police but never thought that they stood stoic and passive while being abused and assaulted would ever be a complaint. Whatever else, got to admire and appreciate the discipline and self control of police personnel in Delhi.

If the news turns out to be selective and manipulated then who takes the fall? The face, the newspaper, the editor, the source? Or life goes on even though the misinformation campaign sullied the image of country, brought losses to business, and ofcourse seeded an idea forever in minds of people, particularly youth, to not trust institutions. Catch 22. If Ritika is taken to court, then freedom of press is at stake, if you don't then this freedom is exploited forever. Who is accountable?
Entire Vote Chori drama was created by Indian Express with flimsy research & fake claims, published on the day SC was taking up a case about ECI appointments. To put pressure on courts. The substance in the report was so weak, the conclusions so motivated & far fetched, it should not have got published. But dhanda pressure... So to hide the lack of substance, from day 1 they started talking about Ritika Chopra, presented her as a hero. Reverse ad-hominem. Glorify an author so their work will appear good. That fraud came crashing down today at Supreme Court... Shame on Indian Express!

The @dir_ed has filed a fresh petition in Supreme Court in the case against #NewsClick and its “illicit foreign funding”. ED claims #NewsClick received approx Rs 85.59 crore in foreign funds through arrangements designed to make foreign contribution appear as legitimate business transactions. 1/n
There is NIA could order in the Yasin Malik case of Pakistan funding stone pelting & protests in the valley between 2010-16. NIA investigations give out details of funding. I have worked on not source based information but cases that are in courts of law. There is one conviction
