"Wives are a drag" is outdated mentality. If Frodo had a wife, he was smart enough to have had a good wife, either before or after the quest. It seems more obvious that of the women available in the shire, none of them interested Frodo. He crept toward self-destruction instead.

Latria is this: acknowledging with the mind who and what God is, and willing (both internally and externally) him as the supreme end, ordering *all things* to him.
So long as he remains your end, no finite amount of kisses or bows for Mary can replace him.

Protestants say God is the creator but in practice they often treat him like he’s the highest creature: for them, certain actions and/or the quantity of them determines what worship is — as if God is at the top of the scale of being instead of utterly transcending it.
Catholic: “Latria for God alone, hyperdulia for Mary, dulia for saints.”
Protestant: “You’re just inventing new words to justify worshipping creatures.”
Catholic: “But you just used ‘latria’ that proves our categories are legitimate!”
Protestant: Okay, let’s play your game.
We give worship to God alone.
To Mary we give hyper-worship.
To the saints we give mini-worship.
Different Greek sounding prefixes, totally different realities… right?
Of course not. Changing the label doesn’t change the act.
Kissing, bowing, praying to, building altars for, singing hymns to, and parading images of a creature is worship, no matter how many layers of scholastic jargon you wrap it in.

Jesus condemned eternal security (“Once Saved, Always Saved”), which is why we reject it.
Matthew 24:13: “But he [the true believer] who endures to the end will be saved.”
Meaning, the true believer who does NOT endure to the end will NOT be saved.🧵

Without confession, ordinarily we would fall into presumption of God’s mercy.
“I GO STRAIGHT TO JESUS.” This mindset will not root out habitual sin. You have to tell someone; and not just to good ol friend, but to someone who has authority to make a definitive judgment.

When the Vice President of the United States of America shares a catholic.com article
One of the things I so admired about Charlie Kirk is that he didn't have a jealous or envious bone in his body. I'm not sure whether this is something innate or cultivated. You see it in young kids from an early age--some kids just feel a natural jubilation when other people do well or succeed, and others don't. Charlie just rooted for everyone, supported them, cheered them on, and encouraged them to see the possibilities they couldn't see in themselves.
All of us should follow that example. Whatever their politics, mistrust anyone who's naturally envious of the success of others. A lot of the posthumous attacks on Charlie are rooted in envy.
There's a reason envy is one of the seven deadly sins.

Men and women are only actors on the stage of life. Why should he who plays the part of the rich man glory in his gold and rich table and consider himself better than one who plays the role of the beggar, begging a crumb from his table? When the curtain goes down, they are both men. So when God pulls down the curtain on the drama of the world's redemption, He will not ask what part we played, but only how well we played the role assigned to us (Fulton J. Sheen).

Jason Read had been serving as a First Respondent during September 11 attack. At the spot, he witnessed a Catholic priest ministering dying people, which inspired him to convert to Catholicism. Later, he became a rower and won Gold for the country in Olympics.
Pray for this young man, I know it is hard but it is the way of Jesus Christ. The greatest tribute we can make to Charlie is to pray for his assassin to be converted to Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior that Charlie loved so well.
Please pray for Tyler, for his conversion and repentance. Don’t let the hurt and anger harden your heart.

"Live as though, if you died at any moment, you'd be satisfied with how you lived. Did you do the right thing? Did you tell the truth?"
