14%GraphQL
29%Je sais pas 😅

Alala du grand art
LOOOOL This is Claude Code disabling TLS Certificate verification on my Redis instance "to debug"💀 (Opening a security breach)
Yeaah... "Anthropic is SOOOOO close to solving coding"... 😂
Seriously, I'm blown away by how many people code without reading a single line
Definitely sure GPT5 is better for task conception than Claude Opus...
Tested both on a complex Questionnaire creation feature, with deep search
I don't even want to try Claude's solution 🫣😂
What model do you prefer to use for doing your research/conception phase?

Damn. Fucking. Right.
Vibe coding is a scam.
I tried vibe coding for 2 days.
I’m talking real vibe coding where I turn on YOLO mode and spend time on my phone while Cursor spits out code.
Here’s why it’s a scam:
1. I didn’t learn anything. Like actually nothing. I felt dumber than before
2. It generates 💩 code. The worst code imaginable. Extremely annoying or impossible to debug. Easier to just start over
3. AI can’t fix every bug. Sometimes it goes in infinite loops trying to fix something
4. It’s not fun. At first it seems great but once you realize you don’t know what’s going on and it’s producing bad code, it gives you stress and anxiety
5. I feel like a worse engineer. Not thinking through the approach, how to build a solution, how to debug, what even am I doing? At this point I’m a non-technical product manager (no offense ❤️)

When I quit my job at Meta, I was making $297,000 a year.
But I decided to leave it and start back at $0.
And it's the best decision I've made in my life.
Here's why:
$300K.
That's a lot more money than any twenty-something year old kid deserves to make in a year.
Or at least that's what society and the media might have you believe.
Sure, after taxes, 401-k and HSA contributions and rent in Mountain View you're "only" left with $100K to spend.
But that's still a lot of money.
It's enough for a Tesla. Or even two Teslas.
So it wasn't about the money.
It came down to two things:
First was leverage and compound interest.
You can 2x your output as an engineer at Meta. You can work longer hours, spend thousands of dollars investing in yourself, and dump out twice as much code as you used to.
But that doesn't 2x your salary.
The input you put in (a.k.a. the value you create for shareholders) does not equal the output you receive (a.k.a. your paycheck).
You can be the world's hardest W-2 worker, but at the end of the day, your potential (and potential for earning) are capped.
As you compound your growth, progress, and skills over many years, you'll realize that your reward doesn't compound at the same rate.
And like I said, it wasn't about the money.
It's about working in an incentive structure where you're not encouraged to put in 100%.
Rather, you're instead incentivized to cruise through just enough to hit your bonus targets.
Personally, that is not how I want to live my life.
All else equal, if you 2x your business, you'll 2x your income. Compound interest will work for you in the long run, and not against you.
So you're incentivized to put in your all, because you know your work won't be wasted.
And the second was self-fulfillment.
I am not a great 9-5 worker.
I look at my phone. Take frequent bathroom breaks.
When the clock hits 4PM, I stare at it waiting for it to count down to 5.
I was getting work done, and sure I was bringing in lots of money for the company and the shareholders. But the work wasn't satisfying.
An updated ad campaign I engineered brought in $570,000 of sales. So what?
I can't even see these customers. I have no clue if they're happy they bought the product, and at the end of the day, I was devoting my life for a statistic, not people.
And it wasn't satisfying.
If I was going to spend 80,000 hours and the majority of my days devoting myself to a cause, I want it to be something I can be proud of and genuinely enjoy.
It's not even about "trading your time for money".
In fact, I'm more than happy to trade my time for money if it's a cause I can whole-heartedly get behind.
But that wasn't it.
That's my quick story.
If you have any comments, questions, criticisms, or hate, feel free to send it my way via comments or DMs.
Happy Friday to you too!

LEAKED internal memo from CEO of Shopify @tobi around AI
10 quick takeaways i have after reading it:
1. a subtle but huge reframe: “hire an AI before you hire a human.”
2. AI is now a baseline expectation at shopify. hiring filters will probably favor ai-fluent candidates at shopify and other companies.
3. AI agents are now treated like teammates, not tools.
4. prompting is now a core skill. top performers will be top prompters.
5. AI usage is now measured. kinda wild. probably a business idea there to build the lattice for AI usage.
6. AI-first prototyping is the new standard. shipping speed will probably 10x even at a $100B company like Shopify.
7. org charts blur, headcount planning now includes bots, not just bodies.
8. AI literacy is the new coding literacy. prompting, contextualizing, or evaluating ai output is become mandatory.
9. AI is now a core layer in the software stack. not a plugin. not an add-on. ai sits beside infra, backend, frontend, and design. the best teams will be the ones who treat it like infrastructure.
10. tobi’s memo screams one thing: more impact per person. shopify is early to this, but i bet this will hit every major company over the next 12-24 months.

The response to ChatGPT’s new image generation update has been insane.
Since it dropped, we’ve been deep in the weeds—testing prompts, building workflows, and generating scroll-stopping ads in seconds.
Here’s what it unlocks:
- Turn a product photo or even just a description into high-quality mockups, product renders, or scene-based creatives (think skincare on marble, protein bars in gym bags) — no 3D artist or shoot required.
- Generate model shots and specify everything: age, gender, setting, pose, emotion — all from a single prompt.
- Automate ad iterations: take your top performer, tweak the headline, change the CTA, adjust colourways… done in seconds.
The game has changed. We need to adapt to write smart, structured prompts that plug directly into your creative workflow.
Today I'm launching the result of last weeks of testing: The Ad Creative JSON Script Library
Your plug-and-play system for generating high-performing static ads using AI.
What’s inside?
✅ JSON templates for UGC, testimonials, offers & more
✅ Visual + copy placeholders formatted for GPT-4o
✅ Layouts based on top-performing statics
✅ Creative compliance tips
✅ The exact prompt + framework behind a £100k+ campaign
If you’re scaling a DTC brand or running performance creative, this is how you speed up production without sacrificing quality.
