This storyline is hilarious because defending your homie in a bullshit situation he roped you into and finding out he’s in the wrong halfway through is a canon event for most male friendships.

Suzu Suzuki nominates Maika as the next challenger for her World of STARDOM Championship:
“This is the 3rd successful defense of this World (of STARDOM) championship belt. First Utami, then Natsuko, and now Kid. You know, there’s someone in STARDOM I desperately want to face. Someone I absolutely must fight. The opponent I couldn’t defeat when I won the 5★STAR (in 2023) and competed in the title decision match at Ryogoku… Maika! I just can’t shake off the frustration from that time. So, let’s put this belt on the line.”
Maika: “To be honest, after losing that 4-Way match to you, I didn’t think I had the right to ask for a shot at this belt myself. Ever since you first came to STARDOM, I’ve been fighting you over and over and over again! Even so, I want to face you as many times as it takes. So first of all, thank you for calling out my name today. But you said it yourself, right? About losing to me at Ryogoku. I know everything about you, so I’m confident I can get the three-count and take this belt anytime, anywhere. So, when are we doing this? Where are we doing this? Anytime is fine with me!”
