October has been a rough month for software security. We've seen dangerously weak cryptographic keys, deployment platforms exposing customer secrets, and AI helping researchers discover serious vulnerabilities in old code. I wrote about what happened in a medium article.

Walkable cities, clean air, and a healthy work-life balance might not sound like much, but they can drastically improve our quality of life. We often overlook these basics here in India, even though they make such a huge difference in how we live.
₹50 lakh/year in India vs €100K/year in Europe ?? The comparison isn't just about salary, here's my take. ₹50 lakh in India comes with: • Hours lost in traffic every week. • Expensive homes, often far from your workplace. • Air pollution and water shortages. • Paying extra for services that should work in the first place. • Earning more money, but struggling to find time to enjoy it. **€100K in Europe can offer:** • Better public transport and walkable cities. • Cleaner air and more reliable infrastructure. • Better work-life boundaries in many workplaces. • More opportunities to travel and enjoy public spaces. • Better value for money beyond your monthly paycheck. Of course, taxes, housing, childcare, and living costs vary significantly across European cities. €100K doesn't automatically make you richer. Don't compare salaries. Compare the life those salaries can buy you.

Easy fix: Don't buy iPhone Duo.
⚠️ WARNING: Things to avoid with your iPhone Duo. • Don’t rub keys or coins against the inner screen • Don’t dig your fingernails into the inner screen • Don’t scrape the titanium frame with a knife • Don’t rub chainmail armour against the display • Don’t peel off the screen protector • Don’t pour dirt into the hinge or ports • Don’t bury it in the sand • Don’t force it closed if something is stuck • Don’t fold it 10,000 times just to see what happens • Don’t put it in a freezer at -20°C and repeatedly fold it • Don’t hold a lighter up to the screen • Don’t sit on it when it’s unfolded • Don’t bend it backwards • Don’t twist the phone to test its strength • Don’t drop it down a flight of stairs • Don’t run over it with your car Or if you do, make sure you have AppleCare+ 😆

Apple was always ahead of the time.
Apple once built a computer that was also a television. On October 25, 1993, Apple shipped the Macintosh TV. A striking black all-in-one that could switch between being a Mac and a cable-ready TV. It was the first black desktop Macintosh, came with a matching black keyboard, mouse, and remote, and was essentially a black LC 520 with a built-in tuner and 14" Trinitron. Only about 10,000 were ever made. You couldn’t watch TV in a window. The moment you switched modes, the computer disappeared and the TV took over the entire screen. It was expensive (~$2,079), limited (5 MB of RAM, max 8 MB), and quickly discontinued. What was meant to be a bold step into the living room became one of the rarest and most unusual Macs ever released.

Last week, I watched an incredible movie, Heart of the Beast, about a man and his dog trying to survive against all odds. All I can say is that it's one of my favourite Brad Pitt movies (and he has so many!). This movie will leave you feeling hella emotional by the time the credits roll.
