If I were a SaaS founder doing $500K ARR, here’s EXACTLY how I’d use video to build authority and generate leads. Step 1: Map Your ICP’s Biggest Challenges Start with your audience. What keeps them awake at night? Create videos that: - Solve specific pain points - Show how your product fits into their solution - Answer questions your ideal customer is already searching for For example: If your ICP struggles with onboarding churn, a video titled “How to Onboard SaaS Customers Without Losing Them After 30 Days” may hit the mark. Step 2: Leverage Your Founder Expertise Listen, your unique perspective is your advantage. - Share the lessons you’ve learned scaling to $500K ARR - Talk about the challenges and wins your audience can relate to - Use thought leadership to connect emotionally and intellectually Key thing to remember... Founders buy from founders who’ve walked the path before them. Step 3: Build a Video Flywheel Repurpose one high-quality video into multiple pieces of content: 1. Record Weekly Videos: 3–5 minutes addressing a specific challenge or insight. 2. Slice it up for Social: Edit highlights into short-form clips for LinkedIn, Twitter or any other platform that makes sense. 3. Optimize for Search: Add SEO-optimized titles, tags, and descriptions on YouTube to make your content discoverable. Over time, this flywheel generates consistent visibility, leads and trust. All without you doubling your workload. The outcome? Authority: Your audience sees you as an expert who “gets it.” Inbound Leads: Videos work 24/7 to pull the right people into your pipeline. Evergreen Growth: Repurposed content creates compounding ROI. Are you a SaaS founder ready to scale your visibility? Drop a 🎥 below, and I’ll share how you can implement a founder-led video strategy like this.

Not to burst your bubble, but… Being a founder isn’t enough—you’ve got to be a creator, too. Here's what makes you relatable and builds trust: - Sharing insights - Setbacks - Stories Bottom line: The brands that stand out are led by founders who show up and connect.

Worried about your niche? In the video, @TaylinSimmonds shares why all niches go through a saturation and desaturation phase. That said, if @videoheavyco did his editing, here’s how we would remake this video to (1) grab attention and (2) make it more engaging

There was a time on my X journey, I focused on: 1. Gaining followers 2. Going viral In that order. That's small-minded thinking. None of those things really matter. My focus now? 1. Building a business 2. Making an impact In that order. Start prioritizing the right things.

Here’s a little secret: While tons of businesses are dumping cash into flashy videos, the smart ones focus on clarity & consistent messaging. Why? Because it’s not about the dollars you spend. It's about how your message strikes a chord with your audience. Remember that.

There's days I don't feel like showing up. Had A LOT of those this week. All due to the 9-5. But - I showed up anyway. Because it's about two things: 1. Discipline 2. Progress Those things carry me when motivation is non-existent.

If you made the decision to go all in with video for your business... Kudos. Proud of you. But - making random videos won't do the trick. Make videos with a purpose. Have a clear goal. That's much better than making a lot of videos without a plan.

VIDEO MYTH DEBUNKED #002 "For video content to be successful on social media, it must go viral." Many business owners get it confused. They think that a successful video is one that goes viral... When in fact it's the ones that generates consistent engagement, builds brand awareness & driving actions that align with the goals for your business. Bookmark this post and let's break down what's really important: ------------------------------- 1. Engagement Over Virality ------------------------------- So-called influencers would be mad at this one. But - this is the key factor you NEED to measure with your videos. Videos that consistently engage a specific audience can be more valuable than a one-time viral hit. Why? Because engagement leads to a loyal following & builds community around your brand. Chances are you won't get that with chasing virality. --------------------------- 2. Quality & Relevance --------------------------- The problem with viral content? That audience will usually only want that content and nothing else. That's not good for your business. Instead of chasing virality, focus on creating high-quality, relevant content for your target audience. This means videos that: - address their interests - solves their challenges - satisfies their needs This actually encourages more interaction... Which ultimately will lead to higher conversion rates. ----------------------- 3. Measurable Goals ----------------------- Keep this in mind: Views & shares are not measurable objectives you want. As a business owner, you need to set clear, measurable objectives for your video content. This includes: - lead generation - website traffic - sales These metrics are much better than views & shares when you want a more accurate measure of success. ------------------------------------------------------- Okay ... hope that breaks down why chasing virality with a video doesn't equal to success. That said, if you want your videos to align with the goals for your business, here's some action steps to take to do that: --------------------------------------- Step 1. Understand Your Audience --------------------------------------- Knowing what they way is key. Use analytics to gain insights into your audience's preferences and behaviors. Then, tailor your video content to meet their needs and interests. --------------------------------------- Step 2. Create a Content Calendar --------------------------------------- Pretty simple, right? Here, you want to plan & schedule regular video posts to maintain a consistent presence. Consistency is key here. Include a mix of content types (AMAs, vlog style, talking head, etc.) to keep your audience engaged and interested. -------------------------------------- Step 3. Engage with Your Viewers -------------------------------------- This should be a given. You want to encourage & participate in as many conversations possible around your videos. Comments. Shares. Feedback. These are all opportunities to engage with your audience & gather insights for future content. -------------------------------------- Step 4. Promote Across Channels -------------------------------------- So many businesses don't do this - but should. If you have other marketing channels ... use them. Utilize them as much as possible to: - promote your videos - driving traffic from your website - email newsletters Cross-promotion is crucial. --------------------------------- Step 5. Measure and Optimize --------------------------------- Success is in the data. Continuously track the performance of your videos against your goals. Use these insights to refine your strategy, improve content, and better target your audience. Aaaaaand that's it. ------------------------- Thanks for taking some of your time to read this post. VIDEO MYTH DEBUNKED #001 "Shorter videos are always better because people have short attention spans." Here's the thing: The general thinking that "shorter is always better" is wrong because the effectiveness of the length of video has a lot of factors to it. Let's deep dive in: ------------------------------------- 1. Content Value > Content Length ------------------------------------- Here's the truth: Viewers will watch longer videos if the content is valuable and engaging. Look at Mr. Beast's videos. Look at feature films. Look at educational or tutorial videos. All different types. All can retain engagement. ----------------------- 2. Platform Matters ----------------------- This is a BIG one. Intention matters. Are viewers looking to browse or learn? If they're browsing, then shorter videos (30 seconds to 2 minutes) will perform well. [That's on platforms like Instagram, TikTok or X] But - if they're looking for information (or to learn something), platforms like YouTube or your website can host longer content effectively. Viewers will love it. As long as it delivers value. -------------------------- 3. Audience Expectation -------------------------- Understanding your audience's expectations is crucial. If they are looking for in-depth information or looking to learn something, then longer videos can meet their needs and expectations better than shorter ones. -------------------------------------- 4. Engagement Metrics Over Length -------------------------------------- Pay attention: You need to really study and focus on engagement metrics. This includes things like: - Watch time - Comments - Likes (not a fan of this but it's an important metric in this case) Focus on those things rather than just the video length. Why? Because they can offer insights into what lengths work best for both your content and audience. ---------------------------------------------------------- Okay ... hopefully that helps put an end to the whole "short attention span" idea. Because honestly, viewers don't have short attention spans ... people need to create better videos. Here's some steps to take to do that: ----------------------------------------------------- Step 1. Analyze Your Audience and Content Type ----------------------------------------------------- Okay. You want to make sure to match the length of the video to your audience’s expectations and the complexity of the content. Whatever platform you're creating video on, use analytics to get a better understanding of the average watch time. Then, adjust accordingly. ----------------------------------------------------- Step 2. Test Different Lengths ----------------------------------------------------- Saying people have short attention spans is reckless. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE PROOF FOR YOURSELF. Just like in science class, you want to test your hypothesis. Best way to do that with video? Experiment with different video lengths to see what resonates most with your audience. Analyze it. Then, based on those insights, tailor your content strategy accordingly. --------------------------------- Step 3. Segment Your Content --------------------------------- This one's easy. For longer content, consider breaking it down into chapters or segments. This makes it easier for viewers to navigate. Plus, you can strategically get them to focus on the most relevant parts. --------------------------------- Step 4. Engage. Engage. Engage. --------------------------------- This should be a given. Regardless of length of the video, the first few seconds are crucial to hook viewers. Your focus should be on creating a compelling opening to ensure viewers stay for the duration. ------------------------- Thanks for taking some of your time to read this post. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. If you enjoyed this post? Do me at least one solid. 1. Follow @theandrewwarner for more content like this. 2. Share this post with a business owners (or brand) you think would benefit from this. 3. RT (not necessary but appreciated.) Think your high-ticket pricing is the primary barrier to purchasing decisions? It's not. Potential customers DON'T purchase because they're not yet convinced of the value, unsure of the fit or they simply don't trust the brand enough. Here's how video can fix that: (a thread)

September2019: I created my very first video. March 2023: The idea of building a video agency is thought of. July 2023: Created Video Heavy. An agency focused on short form video content for business owners and brands that want to generate leads – but has no time to dedicate to it. August 2023: Signed my first client at $1400/m. September 2023: Working with 3 additional clients for free to get testimonials and build my skill. February 2024: Lost client I was working with February 2024: Pivoted agency to full-service video agency that offers more than just short form Now: Dealing with everything in the backend and aggressively doing cold outreach (email & DMs) to grow my business. Truthfully, the past 12 months has been a roller coaster. But – I’m excited for what’s being built. More importantly, I'm learning: • There's no perfect moment. • No perfect time. • There will be ups and downs. Best course of action... Roll with the punches and figure it things out when they happen.

One thing I'm learning about business: Micro goals are > Here's what I mean. Instead of focusing on $1M ARR for your business, focus on making your first $1. Then $100 Then $1,000 Then $10,000 Then $100,000 Strategy + execution at each milestone will eventually get you there
