‼️ BREAKING - They don’t want you to know. France’s PM has reportedly asked FOUR major telecoms companies to prepare to BLOCK access to X, TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat. So unrest can be buried. But you know really it’s the suppression of information. To shut you up. You wont retaliate if you don’t know it’s happening.

Is this the reason for stocking up on toilet rolls and baked beans?
Tiny Andy must plan for this.

Wealth taxes are coming
HMRC has quietly sent hundreds of letters to wealthy people asking them to reveal what they own. Not what they earn or what tax they've paid, but what they own. Here's what's going on. A unit called the Wealthy Team covers anyone with "incomes of £200,000 or more, or assets equal to or above £2m in any of the last three years". That's about 850,000 people. The letters ask for a meeting to discuss "sources of wealth", "future intentions", trusts, companies, family arrangements and even "significant life events" you expect in the coming years. It is presented as voluntary, but there's a nudge: "We may still need to carry out compliance checks on your tax returns. However, speaking with you first may help avoid this." Until now, inspectors have usually only asked about income and earnings. Experts call this a "sea change". One lawyer asked the obvious question: "does HMRC have a right to know what someone owns and not simply that they have paid the right amount of tax?" A tax adviser said: "No other G20 country asks for this level of detail from its taxpayers about what they own." So what is it for? Advisers suspect it is groundwork for an exit tax, a charge on your wealth for leaving the country. As one put it: "Building that knowledge could indeed be part of moving towards an exit tax." You don't have to be a billionaire to see the problem.

There’s just one *small* problem with Andy Burnham’s suggestion we all get wind-up radios to keep in touch during a major outage. Erm, local radio in the UK has been diminished and there’s hardly any left -so who’s giving out the local info we’re supposed to listen to? 😄

Well done to all the volunteers from Marlow Poppies who braved the weather yesterday to finish the display by the park and church. Much better weather today, and the display looks amazing!

A reminder of what Burnham said in May: "I am not proposing that the UK considers rejoining the EU, I respect the decision that was made at the referendum." Now he wants an "honest" conversation about the EU after he lied? You can’t trust a word he says.

Miatta Fahnbulleh, the equally loony replacement Energy Secretary to Ed "Potty" Miliband said this week she was "minded" to reject the go ahead for Rosebank. Now, reports suggest Snake Oil "Pandy" Burnham and John "Two Faced" Healey are to give the go ahead in the budget. Let's hope that, if true, both Miliband and Fahnbulleh throw their toys out of their prams and storm out.

Authorities tell Britons to stay at home because of the storms. So Russia should invade and conquer Britain when it’s windy

A councillor has backed government calls for the stockpiling of food, adding that climate change means incidents like this week’s flash floods are far more likely. Well that’s one way to push up prices and cause a run on bog rolls. shetlandtimes.co.uk/news/gre…

Actually it’s not. We have the most benign weather in the world & many younger people & those living in urban areas have never had so much as a power cut. It hasn’t occurred to many to prep for the type of emergency which might occur.
Replying to @KirstieMAllsopp

Hang on… they don’t want to drill our own fuel, but want to charge us extra tax on imported fuel because it’s imported? Fuel on which we are already heavily taxed?
John Healey has drawn up plans to announce a “green tax” on imported fuel in next week’s Budget, prompting fears that petrol prices could rise, The Telegraph can reveal. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…
