lens today remains 100% focused on the same core vision we had in 2022.
it all started with this:
Lens Protocol Open Letter
Social media platforms have created communities and allowed voices to be heard that might otherwise have been silenced. They have given us the power to connect across continents and oceans.
But these platforms are centralized. They own our data. They control our monetization. They dictate our algorithmic distribution.
It’s time to build a better way.
The Lens Protocol is a decentralized, open-source social graph that returns control of information and links to the people. It allows content creators to own their digital roots and enables individuals to fully possess their connections with their communities.
By signing this letter, you support a future where:
1. Creators own their content and distribution.
2. Users own their social graph and data.
3. Developers have open access to build innovative social experiences without the risk of being de-platformed.
Let's build a new internet together.

Every network starts as a handful of people finding each other.
That's the part #TOKEN2049 week still looks like.
A follow
An intro
A conversation that turns into ten more.
The graph is forming.
The name comes later.

An account is not an identity.
It’s just one expression of it.
@heydotxyz puts your other Lens accounts on the same profile.
@web3bio makes the connection visible.
Small UX on the surface.
A bigger shift underneath: the graph follows the person, not the handle.

Apple: one phone, two faces, one account
Crypto: one guy, 17 wallets, 9 usernames, 4 pfps
We folded the phone.
We still can't fold the identity.
🔎 Web3.bio now supports @fomo search
Just add .fomo to the end of the handle and search:
- Search a Fomo account to discover its wallet address and linked social identities
- Search an wallet address or social account to find its connected Fomo account and jump straight to it
One search, across the entire Identity Graph.

Every new social app adds another place to find people.
The harder problem is knowing they're the same person.
One more piece of the Identity Graph, now with @fomo 🔎

The social graph was never a company asset. It’s a social fact created by the user.
Now we need the infrastructure to make it visible, portable, and usable across people, apps, and AI agents.
A joint piece with @rep_hq on what that could look like 👀

Hi Lens friends,
Should we bid on Farcaster? 👀🍵
update on @farcaster_xyz, @clanker_world and @neynarxyz
we’ve started a process to look for a new home / team to run the products going forward.
earlier this year, this seemed to be a good fit for our team: it was a developer-first network, and we'd been serving developers from the start. There’s been a lot of change since then and we’re not the right fit for what’s needed next.
talking to a few teams we think could be a good fit for running decentralized social apps and related developer products. If you’ve thoughts / are interested, reach out.
our company will return its balance sheet (most of it remains) and team members will move on to something new.
this is not a decision we made lightly. I’m optimistic that with this next iteration, Farcaster will find its long term fit.
it’s loved enough that it’s unlikely to simply perish - thanks to all of you, and lindy-ness.
