On World Mental Health Day, @ICRC & Iraqi Red Crescent Society brought together 100+ children with their parents for a drawing activity in Anbar, Iraq, to promote mental health awareness & give parents quality time with their kids, away from daily pressures.
It was a great honor and pleasure to attend the closing ceremony of this collaboration with the Universtiy of Technology and ICS. The students did an amazing job, each with their unique approach and solution to designing an outdoor space for places of detention. #ICRC
Can architecture help protect human dignity in detention places? That question drove "Architecture Beyond Bars," an @ICRC initiative with University of Technology & Iraqi Correctional Service. It concluded on Oct 8 with student projects reimagining outdoor & family-visit spaces.

Two IHL professors from Iraq, from the Universities of Mosul & Kufa, joined the Global Gathering of IHL Professors in Geneva (24-27 Aug), organized by the @ICRC with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, to discuss emerging challenges & keep IHL relevant and effective.
