Thrilled to announce that our quantum computing research (Co-authored with William Moses (@wsmoses) and Neil Thompson (@ProfNeilT) has finally come out in Proceedings of the IEEE (@ProceedingsIEEE) (IF 25.9), a leading journal in computer science! 🎉 Our paper, "The Quantum Tortoise and the Classical Hare: When Will Quantum Computers Outpace Classical Ones and When Will They Be Left Behind?" introduces a framework called "Quantum Economic Advantage" to evaluate when quantum computing delivers economic benefits over classical computing. Our analysis reveals when quantum or classical computing is more effective across all problem sizes, identifying thresholds where quantum algorithms overcome the inherent speed disadvantage of quantum hardware. Curious about quantum computing’s economic edge? Check out the full paper: lnkd.in/efWE4jX3. What’s your take on the future of quantum technology? 💬 This work bridges the ongoing debate on quantum computing between optimists like Bill Gates, co-founder and former CEO of Microsoft, (lnkd.in/ev5XeW3y) and skeptics like NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang (lnkd.in/edSEsUxp). By identifying when quantum computing delivers economic value, it offers a practical roadmap for industries and policymakers to prioritize their quantum strategies. 🚀 #QuantumComputing #Innovation #DigitalEconomy #EconomicsOfQuantum #IEEE

Metagradient descent is #1 on the DataComp small *and* medium leaderboards! Really excited about the potential to design training routines by "just doing gradient descent." w/ @logan_engstrom Ben Chen @wsmoses @axel_s_feldmann @aleks_madry More exciting results coming soon :)
Want state-of-the-art data curation, data poisoning & more? Just do gradient descent! w/ @andrew_ilyas Ben Chen @axel_s_feldmann @wsmoses @aleks_madry: we show how to optimize final model loss wrt any continuous variable. Key idea: Metagradients (grads through model training)

In this paper, researchers have developed an end-to-end GPU-to-CPU transpilation system based on Polygeist/MLIR, showing CUDA kernels from PyTorch can efficiently run and scale on the CPU-only Supercomputer Fugaku without user intervention. #HPC arxiv.org/pdf/2207.00257.pdf
