What a surreal week. While we were putting finishing touches on the refactored CAR preprint (featured by Anthropic), NYT contacted me about a video of the T-cell imaging method I built a decade ago. Evidently Billy Evans viewed it at 2x speed in the documentary.

We have barely scratched the surface of ICD design. Shout out to @liambai21 for leading this work.
What will drug discovery look like when intelligence is abundant? Our team at @generate_biomed began with this question, and we’re excited to share some results! We took on in vivo CAR-T and designed a scaffold 70% smaller than ones in the clinic, with 3x the potency 🧵

As a vibe coder in biotech, I've been thinking a lot about LLM safety filters and jailbreaks – prompting techniques that bypass them. I found these topics to be an instructive lens into LLM internals, so wanted to share my notes in this short thread & blog post 🧵

Introducing reversible molecular simulation: differentiable simulation but with constant memory. Useful for training classical and machine learning force fields to match experimental data. Feedback very welcome! arxiv.org/abs/2412.04374 (1/8)

You asked for it, so here it is. Visualizing CPU cache speeds relative to RAM. Cache optimization is important too!

Protpardelle 🍝 came out in @PNASNews last week! highlights of new results: - backbone-only model compares with RFdiffusion - flow-based likelihoods predict designability - better filtering on AFDB improves quality and diversity - measure scaffolding and repacking performance

When I came to US for graduate study, in 1986, the Harvard International Office made Ed and Jane my host parents. “My father likes math,” their son told me. “Me too,” I said. Years later, I learned that Ed invented chaos theory. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward…

Making a commitment here that I’ll talk about symmetric protein design from a perspective you couldn’t have read about somewhere 😉
