In Tripura, along the India-Bangladesh border, the BSF detained a man named Hafizur Rahman over suspected smuggling. After his detention, a group of people attacked a BSF team, injuring several soldiers and damaging a BSF vehicle.
And how did India Today report it?
First, it reported that a BSF jawan had harassed a local man, which triggered anger among the locals and led to the attack.
But later, India Today quietly changed its headline and updated its report after learning that the detention was part of an anti-smuggling operation.
The headline changed, but the damage was already done. India Today initially presented a narrative that portrayed the BSF as the villain.

With that, an Indian company is now the world's 4th largest commercial vehicle maker.
The combined group brings in about $24 billion in revenue, employs more than 73,000 people, runs 27 plants and sells in more than 130 countries.
Iveco keeps its headquarters in Turin. Its trucks still roll from Turin across Europe. Tata leadership announced it in person in Italy.

Can a sacred place, revered by crores of Hindus, be abused so casually?
Neha Bora says that, under the Brahmanical system, even Brahmin women are unsafe, their rape happens, and that pujaris rape women inside temples.
These are generalised allegations against the entire class of temple priests and against the sanctity of temples.
Why are such statements made so casually and without hesitation? Because for a long there has been a confidence that no one will act. People like Neha Bora have taken advantage of our silence. That silence is over now.
Sexual crimes must be investigated and punished wherever they occur. But publicly painting all pujaris as rapists, and temples as places of such crimes, promotes disharmony and enmity between communities.
That is exactly why a formal complaint has been filed seeking registration of an FIR under Section 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and other applicable provisions.
She has to understand her limitations and that her freedom of speech is not absolute.
We will pursue this matter until it reaches a logical conclusion.
