Finally a good article!
"Underrated, professional and off the track a likeable guy, Russell has the qualities to become an F1 world champion and he knows it. This season he was simply not given the opportunity to fight for it."

He congratulated Kimi and his family, then he left. If he stuck around people would be talking about how he’s trying to make it about himself. It cuts multiple ways. George has been more than a gentleman to Kimi this entire season.
he decided to lock himself up and away from the media circus because he knew the moment he opens his mouth he’d change the trajectory of his relationship with that fuckass team forever

You fucked his year up and then you do some weired inauthentic guilt filled apology. Have some shame
pinkss retweeted
he went and hugged kimi's sister and his dad too btw, he's just a nice guy, never let it be said that george has anything against kimi because his words and actions this season have not reflected that ONE BIT and yet sky italy wants to paint this weird villainous narrative

“we don’t have one driver, we have two” says the guy who was considering team orders all the way back in canada.

when george said he was gonna shut the fuck up he meant it, he hasn’t said anything since

This quote is hilarious because this delivery issue plagued the car at the beginning, middle and end of the season. You didn’t just Gail him today, Toto. You failed him the entire season.

The fact that George isn’t speaking to the media after Mexico says a lot about where things stand right now. Especially when FIA didn’t even granted him an exemption from his media obligations.
And honestly, what could he possibly say that he hasn’t already said a hundred times this season?
Just think, George qualified on the front row, got a good initial launch and then suddenly had absolutely no speed. 3 positions lost before they even reached the first corner. Then came the penalty, another race spent trying to recover and eventually a P6 finish. His race engineer and Toto had to apologise to him, telling him it was them.
In ONE race one Mercedes driver became World Champion, while the other lost his last chance at the title and dropped from second to 4th in the championship standings and it wasn’t his fault. But it happened at race that decided everything. I don’t think people realise just how fucking brutal that is.
How many more times does he have to hear his team apologise? How many more weekends does he have to spend trying to recover from something that went wrong before he even had a proper chance to race?
George has been compared to Kimi all season long and we’ve had to listen to the media and people online constantly talking about how much better Kimi is, how he’s outperforming George, while completely ignoring everything George has been dealing with week after week.
And just imagine the pressure he’s been under. He went into this season as a favourite to win the WDC and now he’s dropped out even the top 3. All while having to deal with constant comparisons to his own teammate and watching people overlook just how much he’s been struggling with things beyond his control. I barely can imagine what is really going on RIGHT NOW. He deserved so much better than this

“he should’ve stayed to celebrate with him” you all are dense and lack empathy, plus the other guy never showed up for him anyway, didn’t even congratulate the grand slam so yeah! I think he can fuck off if he wants
pinkss retweeted
No, because never before has a team posted about the teammate who lost to say “sorry for the shitshow” after the other teammate won the WDC. Like this just speaks volumes of how unfair this season has been
pinkss retweeted
you were shitting and blaming him the entire season and now it’s suddenly “it’s on us we failed george this season” yeah no shit sherlock

@GeorgeRussell63 we move toward 2027 heeding the wise words of Niki Lauda. “I've seen a lot of people here winning and losing, so I'd like to dedicate this award to the losers. Because I tell you from my own experience, winning is one thing but out of losing I always learn more for the future.”

My heart breaks for George after all the painful setbacks this year. But these things cannot hide his talent, his maturity, and how complete he is as a driver.
To us and the whole team, he’s already a champion, and his time will undoubtedly come. I know all of this has only made him stronger, and he will come back even stronger next season. So proud of him. We are all right beside him.🌟

i hope that merc can actually give george a fair chance and equal machinery to his teammate next season now that they have their "youngest wdc"
