Unfortunately, there has been one small oversight.
Simon doesn't actually know what science is.
Perhaps universities in France don't require coursework in the history or philosophy of science, to attain a PhD degree. Or perhaps he was sick that day. But whatever the reason, his hat or his shoes, Simon doesn't understand that science is an algorithm.
Not a person.
Not an institution.
Not a body of knowledge, or a set of data.
An algorithm.
It is a simple, stepwise procedure. It is the act of examining the universe to see what is there.
It is not the act of examining one's baguette to see which side it is buttered on.
Which is precisely why a lot of institutions, who prominently, proudly, and fraudulently use the word "science" in their names, have lost the public trust that Simon feels entitled to.
They took money.
They sold their judgement and modified their results.
They took money from Proctor and Gamble, and they told us that beef, butter, and eggs are bad for us, and we should eat crystalized cottonseed oil instead.
They took money from Coca-Cola, Kraft-Heinz, and Unilever, and told us a calorie is a calorie is a calorie, and that the worldwide obesity epidemic is your fault because you somehow magically were born lazier and greedier than previous generations.
They took money from a cabal of grifters in the federal bureaucracy, and told us the planet has a fever, and we all need to pay more taxes so they can give it to their grifter friends.
They told us that if we didn't use our entire population as guinea pigs for an untested medical technology, we were personally killing grandma.
These people expect to share in the respect we have for Newton and Einstein, for Watt and Tesla, for Fleming, for Turning and Von Neumann.
But they are not any of these. They are Pravda. They are Squealer. They are Baghdad Bob.

Actually the smart thing to do is run a caching tile server on a VPS. I am not sure exactly how many lines of code it was because I implemented this some time ago but it was something like 20 lines of code in Go.

This is a fun history lesson that takes me back.
In 1795, French revolutionaries were building the metric system from scratch. They needed a prefix for “thousand” and went to Ancient Greek. The Greek word is χίλιοι (khílioi). The correct prefix should have been “chili.”
Problem: in French, “chi” sounds like the start of “chier,” which means “to shit.” The scientists couldn’t have every unit of weight in the new system start with a word that sounds like a bathroom verb. So they swapped it to “kilo.” Technically incorrect Greek. But it kept the world’s measurement system dignified.
Before this, France had 700+ different units of measurement. A “league” in one province was almost twice the distance of a “league” in another. Total chaos. The Revolution gave scientists the mandate to replace all of it with one clean decimal system. Greek roots for the big prefixes (kilo, hecto, deka). Latin for the small ones (milli, centi, deci).
The whole thing became law on April 7, 1795. Then it took another 45 years of Napoleon banning it, people ignoring it, and political upheaval before France actually committed to using it.
230 years later, that “K” from a mispronounced Greek word, filtered through French revolutionary politics, now sits on every social media platform, salary negotiation, and bank statement on earth.
The entire abbreviation you use every day exists because French scientists in 1795 refused to say “shit” every time they weighed something.

How would a Restore Britain Government support small businesses? First step, and possibly the most important. We understand the problems and trust me, I know how difficult it is. I’ve been there, I’ve done it. The effort that goes into keeping a small firm profitable and operational is vast, and NOBODY in Government understands that.
THE most important way to help small businesses is tax.
GET IT DOWN. Corporation tax - we should be aiming for the lowest in Europe. Undercut our neighbours, take their business. Be ruthless. Make Britain the most attractive place to operate on the continent. Watch how the money then flows in.
Rates will slashed on income and dividend, thresholds pushed up. We must urgently reward success. NI not raised, but cut. If we want businesses to hire, MAKE IT CHEAPER.
Because what happens when employment gets more expensive?
Costs get passed on. Contracts stall. Hiring cancelled. Investment is paused. It grinds the economy to a halt. Businesses stop spending money. They wait and see.
Everyone suffers.
IR35 will go in the bin on day one. Things change, contracts change, circumstances change. IR35 accounts for none of that, adding layers of unnecessary paperwork and regulation. Flexibility matters.
VAT threshold would be doubled. There are so many businesses hovering just under £90k, desperately avoiding VAT. Fair enough, I don’t blame them. So let’s hike the threshold and unleash that demand. We would like to see a tax holiday for small businesses in the first few years - give them the breathing space they need to grow and find their feet.
HMRC will pick up the phone, and you will be able to speak to an advisor who can actually speak fluent English. What a mad shock that would be...
We will end the HR-ification of Britain that is used to blackmail employers. Regulatory frameworks that are used to suffocate small businesses will be burnt away.

Inheritance tax will be abolished. If a family wants to pass their business down the generations, then Government must not stand in the way. Tax has been paid, there should not be another bill following a death. It’s wicked and cruel.
Above all else - businesses need stable, long term thinking. The Budget should be a complete non-event, other than further tax cuts.
This can all be funded by brutalising down the fraudulent state that has become the enemy of the people.
And let me tell you this. ANYBODY who gets business will understand that these measures will pay for themselves many times over. If we reward hard work, then we’ll get more of it. More tax will be paid, and the economy will boom.
These are just my initial thoughts on what a Restore Britain Government would do.
We would create an environment in which it's easy to do business, and then we would leave you the hell alone.

We found their Facebook group organising it all, and matched all the names on that to their tickets.
Quite simple at that stage to mark them off, and keep on selling to genuine attendees.

The split between Reform UK and Restore Britain is fundamentally a philosophical one.
Reform UK, under Farage, embodies consequentialism. The party and its supporters prioritise outcomes. Winning is everything. No compromise is beneath them, be it lawfare to imprison Lowe via a dubious Muslim, purging everyone to his right to appease the mainstream, courting diversity, or absorbing the very Tories responsible for the destruction of the country over the past 14 years. Expediency is king. You will win, and it will only cost you your soul.
In contrast, Restore Britain champions a deontological stance. Lowe emphasises unwavering adherence to core principles: an uncompromising stance on issues like mass deportations, resistance to radical Islam, secure borders, traditional Christian values, free speech, and direct democracy. There are no shortcuts, only a stoic stiff upper lip. There is no glory without sacrifice.
You may notice no one makes the argument for Farage because he is a good man, only that he can win. He is a calamity too big to fail. "You are splitting the votes," I hear? Ironically, it was Reform that showed us the curse of electoral blackmail can be broken. Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again.
Patriots, if you want to win, truly win, and I don't mean the next election cycle, but for your children, your children's children, then we must align the outcome with unyielding principle. The way to reconcile these philosophies is not through endless compromise or merger pleas, but through making the consequential path so costly that rational self-interest forces the hand.

Today marks the end of the survivor participation for our rape gang inquiry hearings. I simply have no words that describe the bravery and courage of these women who have come forward.
No words.
What they have been through is indescribable.
It has been a life-changing experience for me. I never thought such evil was possible. Never. Not here, in Britain. In our towns, in our communities. It is pure evil. These men are so utterly depraved.
If it were up to me, thousands of them would receive the death penalty.
To do what they did, on such an industrial scale, to innocent young girls - many of whom were already in such an incredibly vulnerable place? There is no redemption possible. The world is a better place without them in it.
I started this inquiry because so many others failed.
Speaking honestly, I did not understand how deep this evil is rooted in our society.
Police, politicians, council officials, the NHS, social workers, children’s homes - it is everywhere.
IS everywhere. Not was. IS.
Meeting these women, and men, listening to how severely they were failed by those tasked to protect them? My views have changed forever. I knew it was bad. I never knew how bad it was.
Every single one who has come forward is a hero in my view.
The courage and grace in how they have conducted themselves is unlike anything I have seen in my life. All because they don’t want others to suffer the same fate. That is an extraordinary sacrifice. They could have just moved on with their lives. Tried to forget. But no, they chose to do this. I am in awe of all of them.
Our hearings will finish tomorrow, following the contribution of three more expert witnesses.
Then the next stage begins. We will produce a report, and then we will seek to put people in prison. There are FAR more testimonies and evidence to release - this will keep coming and coming and coming.
Even with a media blackout, we have reached tens of millions. We have made real progress.
And following such immense demand, we will reopen the portal so that more women can tell their stories.
This is just the beginning.
Politicians from all parties have failed these girls, again and again and again.
I do not intend to join that list.
To everyone who donated, thank you. To our team, thank you. And especially to the survivors, thank you.
I believe that together we can start to make Britain understand what is happening, and then finally do something about it.
