NORAD successfully completed Operation GLOBAL GUARDIAN earlier this week. As a U.S. Strategic Command Bomber Task Force transited from the Indo-Pacific into Alaska, through Canada, and into the Continental U.S., NORAD’s Alaskan, Canadian, and Continental U.S. Regions capitalized on the opportunity to execute and coordinate sequential tracking and intercepts of an American  B-52 Stratofortress, acting as a simulated threat to North America. This inter-regional cooperation demonstrates the binational Command’s seamless and layered defense of North America.
