I love everything about the Cheesecake Discourse first and foremost because it is a throwback to Republicans trying to otherize Obama on some absurdist terms (arugula, dijon.) But it doesn’t fucking matter bc his popularity is insane and the joke fucking killed.
Another fun thing! Rs have been snookered into defending Cheesecake Factory as tho it’s a treasure of the heartland! Of the 216 locations, guess how many sit in precincts won by Harris? 166 (77%). The median margin was Harris +21.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀
Why am I hearing the Seinfeld music in my head as I watch this? 😭😭😭
STG, Obama should do a stand-up comedy tour. His roasts are on point!
“He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened up a Cheesecake Factory"
Obama just spoke to an ELECTRIC audience in Ohio, skewering Trump and Pete Hegseth and making the case that while we may be stuck with the same president for two more years, we are not stuck with a spineless do-nothing Congress
Here are the highlights:
This may not be AES' ad, but it's still disgusting.
The far left blames all of America's financial woes on Israel the same way the right blames "iLlEgAl iMmAgRAnts."
I hate living in the Horseshoe Era. 🤦♀️
Unless Abdul El-Sayed immediately demands that this campaign ad be taken down and unequivocally condemns it and its creators, he will be exposed as a vile, dangerous, and divisive antisemite. Any (of my fellow) Democrats who condemn the disgusting Ramaswamy ad in Ohio but do not condemn this deserve our unflinching contempt.
I like Warnock, but we need him in the Senate.
Give the rock star receptions she's been getting wherever she goes, anyone who thinks they have a prayer at winning the nomination over Kamala at this point is just delusional.
"Sen. Warnock, who's considering a presidential run and was a main engine [for] Colom’s race, drew 100 people when he came to the state. Harris had over 1,000 on their feet in the gym, with an RSVP list that had to be closed because of the fire marshal."

she’s absolutely correct. i had people telling me they were certain queers were going to get rounded up into camps within a year and we’d all have to imminently flee the country. that feels quaint now, replaced with a notion of mass incompetence that has triggered something more existentially troublesome but less acutely scary, the revolt of the bond markets.
At the very least, maybe he wouldn't have run for president and made our lives as miserable as his.
Replying to @SethAbramson
Since I'm often critical of Trump I feel I need to underscore here that I'm being serious, even empathetic; Trump might have been a better man—and lived a happier life—had he allowed himself the bisexuality and atheism he long ago decided wouldn't play in the spheres he moved in

Maybe I'll get a lot of hate for this, but I feel like the support Dems have for the trans community has not been appreciated. I don't know if it's the algorithms, the radicalization, or the dumbing down of history, but it's like the trans community is deliberately misinforming themselves as to what the Dems platform is, and what Biden did for the trans community.
Look, maybe it's not my place to tell a community how to feel about their rights, but I still do not get it. What trans civil rights, precisely, do the Dems not defend? What part of the GOP, not the Dems, whipping up a fear mongering culture war about trans people do they not understand?

At last week's debate the bigot Congressman Mike Collins refused to commit to stopping neo-Nazi propaganda from being produced on his property. And this morning CNN reports the production of white nationalist and antisemitic content from Collins’ property has continued. In 11 days Georgians will pass judgment on the bigot Congressman Mike Collins … and end his career.
