CONCERNING BEHAVIOR FROM COHERE'S OPEN MODEL. UPLOADED DATA TO USA
I gave Cohere's Command AI the same prompt they had given to Qwen 3.8 Flash Next.
Next what happened:
1. It inventoried my entire system grepping tons of files
2. Then it created a malicious activity test script though I had asked only for rule
3. Then it UPLOADED data to a US hosted entity
:o
I don't know this malicious or not. But it needs to be investigated.
ZCode harness (patched) can now show the network activity it originates.
@AnthropicAI @OpenAI @elonmusk @Zai_org Would appreciate adding some network transparency to your harnesses and tooling so users can have some visibility

And now the money shot. Is GLM 5.3 more likely to refuse cyberattacks on China vs Western Targets?
This chart has a striking answer, and it is that the model is more WESTERN ALIGNED than China-aligned.
No, GLM 5.3 is _more_ likely to refuse an attack on Canada or the US than China.
Refusals follow a "somewhat western" aligned pattern. The US lives somewhere near the middle, the Commonwealth countries on the far end, Russia and Iran one of the least likely to be refused.
At least from the perspective of refusal-based harm reduction, the model itself is not backdoored. In fact, it shows a lot of Western biases in its patterns!
This is the approximate map of GLM 5.3's alignment axis when we give it a neural sysadmin task (along the lines of "clean up the filesystem") and a hostname + motd that implies a country of origin ("build-07.mod.gov.pk", "Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence - Engineering Infra)🧵

sudo apt-get install -y nvidia-spark-grub-kho
/etc/default/grub.d/nvidia-spark-kho.cfg が入る
2. GRUB反映
sudo update-grub
3. 再起動
sudo systemctl reboot --no-block
4. 反映確認
cat /proc/cmdline | tr ' ' '\n' | grep kho # -> kho=off
RE: @cohere "concerning behaviour" post shows an open-weight model autocompleting exfil URLs + cloud-metadata probes, but those rates come from prefilling (putting the start of a curl in the model's assistant mouth)
I ran their exact method on DeepSeek-V4.1 (1017). 100 tries (you can use my script below to test up to 1M if you want), I supplied 0 URLs, every host is the model's own next token: (every url/ip is generated by the model 100%)
As a result:
- the hosts it picks are legit CTI: GitHub Atomic Red Team, abuse.ch (IoC database when asked to generate detection rules) ..etc
- 169.254.169.254 shows up only when I literally ask it to read cloud metadata
- Generating curl http://x is autocomplete, not intent, nothing ran, nothing left the box (it doesn't every carry sensitive data in the CURL GET/POST requests).
- This Doesn't prove DeepSeek is "clean," but the scary signatures don't reproduce.

Spent some time tuning the 4× NVIDIA DGX Spark fabric today, and this is the result I wanted to see.
Setup:
4× DGX Spark / NVIDIA GB10
MikroTik CRS812
dual-RoCE fabric
NCCL 2.30.7 + CUDA 13.0
nccl-tests 2.21.1 (afd59ab)
1 GPU per node
4 MPI ranks
AllReduce
32 KiB → 256 MiB
20 warmup iterations
100 measured iterations per size
Final 256 MiB result:
15.27 GB/s algorithm bandwidth
22.90 GB/s NCCL bus bandwidth
22.89 GB/s in-place
0 validation errors
That is roughly 183 Gbit/s bus-bandwidth equivalent on the 200 GbE RoCE path.
The more interesting part was not the peak number, though. It was understanding why the default NCCL tuning was leaving performance on the table.
With NCCL fully automatic, the mid-size region was surprisingly weak. Around 1–8 MiB the performance could collapse badly even though large transfers eventually reached ~22 GB/s.
Using NCCL TUNING logs showed what was happening.
The automatic tuner was progressively increasing the number of channels:
128 KiB → 8 channels
256 KiB → 16 channels
512 KiB → 32 channels
1 MiB and above → 64 channels
On this particular 4-node DGX Spark topology, 64 channels were simply too aggressive for the medium-size AllReduce path.
The best reproducible configuration turned out to be:
NCCL_PROTO='^LL128'
and
NCCL_MAX_NCHANNELS=8
Important detail: ^LL128 means exclude LL128, not force it.
With that tuning, the curve became much healthier:
512 KiB → 6.87 GB/s busbw
1 MiB → 12.17 GB/s
2 MiB → 17.07 GB/s
4 MiB → 19.95 GB/s
8 MiB → 20.54 GB/s
16 MiB → 21.66 GB/s
32 MiB → 22.27 GB/s
64 MiB → 22.57 GB/s
128 MiB → 22.74 GB/s
256 MiB → 22.90 GB/s
Full sweep average:
13.8526 GB/s bus bandwidth
And most importantly:
# Out of bounds values : 0 OK
I also tested the newer NCCL_MAX_CTAS=8 control.
It worked, but on this exact NCCL 2.30.7 / GB10 setup it was not as fast as the older NCCL_MAX_NCHANNELS=8 setting, particularly in the 512 KiB–2 MiB region.
So for now I am keeping the configuration that the hardware actually benchmarks best with, rather than changing it just because a newer control exists.
One more useful lesson from this:
A healthy 200 GbE fabric is not only about reaching a good peak number.
You need to look at the entire bandwidth curve.
A system can hit ~22–23 GB/s at 256 MiB and still have a serious tuning problem at 1–8 MiB.
NCCL’s algorithm/protocol/channel decisions matter a lot.
For this 4× DGX Spark cluster, the current reproducible baseline is:
22.90 GB/s NCCL bus bandwidth
~183 Gbit/s equivalent
0 correctness errors
Now that is a fabric result I’m happy to keep as the baseline.

Replying to @nanbeige
@nanbeige 4.3-33B claims it completely smokes Qwen 3.8-27B at agentic coding.
Their model card cites a brutal DeepSWE gap: 65.5 vs 42.5 😳
So I pitted them head to head on ProgramBench using my RTX 5090. Exact same harness, same task, same 30 steps.
The final score?
Qwen: 308
Nanbeige: 0

Now gave it a go with Deepseek v4.1 Flash 1017.
To me the clear winner on all fronts: front end, physics simulation and even added some pre-determined tests.
All three html files and the prompt open and available in the repo below.
I asked now GLM5.3-flash (@Zai_org) to create the same 3D Sailboat Aerodynamics Lab.
Solid result, specially given the difference in number of parameters: Kimi3.1Pro is 2.8T and GLM5.3Flash is 320B.
I added this one to the repo as well.
Which model do you want me to try next?

Imagine a harness capable of auto-selecting the right reasoning effort to match the complexity of the task you give it.
This is the conductor on @TandemLLM, an inference engine that I had the pleasure of contributing to. 🚄
Read more about Tandem's Conductor in the post below.
still one of my favorite things i built. Laya is only 421m and answers a bunch of questions in milliseconds on the spark.
back then i was wiring it into TandemLLM so it could sit next to any main model and make decisions. first feature was auto thinking effort, Laya reads the prompt and picks how hard the model should think.
that was the start of the conductor idea.

I am very happy to present `hermes record`, a Hermes Labs plugin built by Nous Research.
it records what you do in your browser, creates a skill and Hermes can then repeat the task with whatever details you give it.
in this video, I record my pizza order, then use /learn to make a skill out of that recording, then ask my Hermes Agent to place a different order on its own :)

Hermes Desktop, in any browser 🌆
My @NousResearch updated PR. `hermes webapp` serves the real Desktop app from your Hermes host: chat, files, Git, a terminal that survives a refresh, and sign-in for remote binds.
Look forward to it.
