You know what’s cool about the United States? When candidates lose an election, they don’t have to take a secretive flight to another country in the middle of the night with their families to seek safety. They just go back to their day jobs. We shouldn’t take that privilege for granted.

If there’s one thing we can all agree on it’s that the first Saturday watching football without political ads is going to be glorious
It remains the finest piece of Thanksgiving-related media ever produced by our great nation. 🫡

You cannot look at the American Southwest and believe that there is no benevolent God. I am from the Deep South and every time I go to the Southwest I marvel about how I’m in the same country. It’s just breathtaking

Ah the first False Fall of the year. Southerners gleefully donning cardigans and light jackets as we rush out to greet the autumn morning with a gleam in our eyes. “I can almost see my breath!” I say, blowing into my cupped hands. Knowing in my heart it will be 87 on Thanksgiving

Please put the CD rom thingy back in laptops.
It’s highly inconvenient.

The fact that we went from "Wikipedia is not a legitimate source of information" in school to "Just ask AI / ChatGPT to get it done" is actually really insulting to me frankly

A local Catholic parish bulletin this contains a graphic advertising an upcoming pet blessing. Aside from the priest looking nothing like the Pastor and the inexplicable boot on the foot, can anyone tell me what is going on with that aspersorium (Holy Water bucket)?

The UFW wishes our Jewish friends a sweet #RoshHashanah. The first institutional religious support for grape strikers came when boards of rabbis in big Eastern cities declared boycotted products non-Kosher. 2/

Secretary Duffy on using AI to fix Air Traffic Control:
We’re going to use AI. Right now, when there’s bad weather, we just shut down airspace. Sometimes you have a weather shutdown at an airport, you look outside, and it’s blue skies. You’re like, what’s going on?
AI will help us find better routes through weather so we can keep airplanes flying — safely. New tools coming into the system to manage the flow of aircraft will make magic.

So long, America🫡🇺🇸
49 days ago we landed in the USA to follow our country at the World Cup. We had no idea it would turn into the trip of a lifetime.
Thank you to everyone who followed along, and to all the people we met who made this journey even more special. We honestly don’t have the words to express how grateful we are for everything you did for us.
This trip exceeded every expectation we had. We came here with an open mind, wanting to experience as much of the country as possible. I still remember telling my friends on the flight to Atlanta that I hoped we’d get to meet a few locals on this trip. Now we’re flying home with friends all across the USA.
Before we came, we heard so many stereotypes and warnings about America. People told us about safety concerns, that they might check our social media at the border, and all kinds of other things. None of it matched our experience. This was probably the most welcoming country we’ve ever visited.
So if you have the chance to travel, do it. The world isn’t nearly as bad as the media often makes it seem. 99% of people are awesome!
I heard this quote somewhere during the World Cup, and I think it sums up our experience perfectly:
“If you want to hate the world, watch the news. If you want to love it, travel it.”
Thank you, America ❤️🇺🇸
