Ex-BioWare’s Mark Darrah stated that he saw the writing on the wall regarding Mass Effect cancellation and warned about it, in a statement to @InsiderGamingIG, as well as discussing the IPs potential future🚀 ✅Mass Effect's enduring popularity is clear: "I do think it is a franchise with legs. It's a very strong brand. You still see N7 hoodies and jackets and stuff out in the wild." ✅BioWare was shut down a day later, leaving the franchise's direction to be decided soon: "I think within the next five months, we will know what EA plans to do. It will either be clear that they are making forward progress or clear that they are going to get cancelled or they will be cancelled." ✅Mark Darrah warned the series could be a victim of EA's aggressive cost-cutting: “I think that there are good reasons why PIF and EA would want to make another Mass Effect game But also, Andrew Wilson said he wanted to save $700 million, that there was $700 million in savings to come with the acquisition. $700 million is a ton. I don't see how you get there without closing some things down. It also could be that Mass Effect is on that list.” #SaveMassEffect
