Eric Hoffer wrote this article about Israel almost 60 years go. It reads like it was written yesterday. "The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews. Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it, Turkey threw out a million Greeks, and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese-and no one says a word about refugees. But in the case of Israel the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis. Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace. Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world. Other nations when they are defeated survive and recover but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews. No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him. The Swedes, who are ready to break of diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore, and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway. The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources. Yet at this moment Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general. I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us."

Kidneys are closer to the back of the body. Pinching skin on the stomach side does nothing regarding kidneys. Pure charlatan.

Brilliantly and succinctly stated!
Even if Israel formed a government of Mother Teresas, as long as Israel defends itself, the Islamo-left alliance and the woke Reich will find a reason to attack it. The only way for Israel to rebuild its reputation would be to bow down to slaughter, and even then, the Jew-haters would say the Jews are reaping what they sow.

I am not Jewish. But I am a proud Israeli citizen. I live in Tel Aviv. Despite the world having extremely opinionated views about the country I live in, few people I have come across on X (that don’t live here) know little of substance about Israel apart from their warped sense of history and reality. This is the first post of a series I will write entitled Everything You Think You Know About Israel is (Probably) Wrong. The points are not in any particular order. Spread the word. Most Israelis (just over 50%) are not white. The devastating impact on European Jews of the Holocaust meant that the newly formed Israel in 1948 was largely populated by Jews fleeing persecution in Muslim-ruled countries predominantly in the Middle East and North Africa. These are known as Mizrahi Jews and when the State of Israel was formed they made up 80% of the Jewish population living here. Jews have had a continuous presence in the land of Israel since around 1208 BCE, that’s 3,200 years — long before the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. The Muslim faith, in contrast, dates back 1,400 years (610 CE). Yes, when they lost majority rule in the 7th-century Muslim conquest they were not in the majority for centuries, but still lived in their ancestral homeland. Arab terrorism against Jews existed before 1948. In 1929, for example, 67 Jews were killed in the Hebron massacre, attacked and slaughtered by the Arabs they lived and worked beside. My wife’s great-grandfather Ben-Zion Gershon (who was a local doctor that often treated the Arab community without accepting payment) was tortured, had both his eyes gouged out and was then murdered. This was after his daughter Esther was raped in front of him, and his wife Zahava had both arms chopped off and was left to die. This was just one of many similar massacres inflicted on Jews that day. I will continue this series over the coming days.

Nobody running to serve in the U.S. Congress should be running around in a foreign country engaging in political stunts, Pallywood style. They should be in America talking to Americans about American issues. Fuck Brad Lander.

I am looking on the Israeli electoral system from the outside. Granted I don't know the fine details but it seems to me that that system has outlived itself and is liable to be overhauled. The system allowing votes to be trashed is defective.

It was also safer. Anne Frank’s diary never confronts the fact that she, her family and the others hiding in the Annex were denounced by a Dutch collaborator, one of the many neighbors who worked with the Nazis for personal profit or antisemitic ideology. The same was true of every country allied with or occupied by Germany except for Denmark. Marsha’s story doesn’t pin it all on the Nazis, and that’s something that Europe has never confronted. Even the British who doggedly fought the Nazis have never apologized for locking the trap on the Jews with the White Paper that effectively banned Jewish emigration to Mandatory Palestine during the war, all in an effort to appease the Arabs who largely sided with the Nazis.

Everybody, I reported the post that suggested "nuke Tel Aviv." This is the response I've got: <<Hello, Thanks for reporting @guychristensen_. Our support team has determined that a violation of our Rules did not take place, specifically: Violating our Rules against Violent Speech...>> What do you think, if another city, say Paris, would be mentioned, would that constitute violent speech?

Well said
Ask yourself a simple question. Why is almost every celebrity on the same side? Actors, singers, late-night hosts, award-show presenters. Thousands of people with different backgrounds, different lives, different temperaments. And somehow, on every major issue, they land on the exact same opinion, at the exact same moment, with the exact same hashtags. Free minds don't behave like that. An ecosystem does. Now ask a second question. Elon Musk is landing rockets on their own tails. He's bringing internet to villages that never had a phone line. He's building cars that drive themselves and implants that let paralyzed people move a cursor with their thoughts. Artists are supposed to be the ones who dream about the future. Here is a man actually building it. How many of them stand next to him? A handful. Why? Because Hollywood is not a free market of talent. It's a royal court. A young actor doesn't make it because he's good. Hundreds are good. He makes it because someone lets him in: an agent, a casting director, a producer, a studio, an awards committee. Every step is a gate, and every gate has a keeper. When your whole career depends on a few rooms, you learn very quickly what can be said in those rooms and what can't. This is how it works. First you stay silent. Then you nod. Then you repeat. Then you believe. Compromise never arrives all at once. It arrives one dinner, one role, one red carpet at a time. And once you've given up enough, you need the system to stay in place, because the system is the only thing that makes the sacrifice worth it. Want to see the whole mechanism in a single story? For decades, one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood was the subject of accusations from dozens of women, and much of the industry treated it as an open secret. A host even joked about it at an Oscar nominations announcement, and the room laughed. Speaking up seriously meant losing everything. When the truth finally broke, the same industry dressed in black and applauded its own courage. Silence while it pays. Virtue once it's safe. That's the system. And that's the real lie. Not that these people are monsters. Most aren't. The lie is calling it courage. Real courage costs you something. Saying what every room in town already applauds costs nothing. Saying the opposite is what costs. That's why so few artists stand with Elon. Not because they've studied his ideas and rejected them, but because standing there is a career risk they can't afford. Look at what happened to him when he left the consensus. Advertisers fled. Friends disappeared. Invitations stopped. He could afford it. Almost nobody else can. That tells you exactly how free that world really is. So wake up. Stop taking your political cues from people whose paycheck depends on agreeing. A celebrity endorsement is not an argument. It's a loyalty signal. Your vote, your convictions, your children's future: don't outsource them to people who are paid to recite lines someone else wrote. The people who build the future rarely get applause from the people who perform it. Think for yourself. It's the most American thing you can do.

Accurate
Today's political lesson... When a fly falls into a cup of coffee. The Italian – throws the cup, breaks it, and walks away in a fit of rage. The German – carefully washes the cup, sterilises it and makes a new cup of coffee. The Frenchman – takes out the fly and drinks the coffee. The Chinese – eats the fly and throws away the coffee. The Russian – drinks the coffee with the fly, since it was extra with no charge. The Israeli – sells the coffee to the Frenchman, sells the fly to the Chinese, sells the cup to the Italian, drinks a cup of tea, and uses the extra money to invent a device that prevents flies from falling into coffee. The Palestinian - blames the Israeli for the fly falling into his coffee, protests the act of aggression to the UN, takes a loan from the European Union to buy a new cup of coffee, uses the money to purchase explosives and then blows up the coffee house where the Italian, the Frenchman, the Chinese, the German and the Russian are all trying to explain to the Israeli that he should give away his cup of tea to the Palestinian so there will be peace.

Cool. But what's gonna happen at sunrise?
Reminder: It doesn’t matter how crazy, stupid, despicable, or far-right your views are. Just rub the genie bottle then utter three magic words “I hate Trump” and The New York Times will transform you into a courageous, principled, beautiful princess overnight.

Disgrace. Three weeks before midterms.
American energy dominance ends up in begging Putin for diesel from refineries that the U.S. until yesterday helped destroy, in a last-minute hope that prices will come down by mid-terms.

Galloway is a raging antisemite. Has been for years. His speech is violent. Why is he allowed to spread his hatered unopposed?
George Galloway at a Cape Town mosque: Israelis may be planning a "second Israel" in South Africa, like in Argentina and Cyprus. Beware an independent Western Cape, it will quickly become a "new Tel Aviv."
