I have officially resigned from the Green Party and will currently sit as an independent Cllr A statement to the people of Waterloo Today I have made the incredibly difficult decision to resign from the Green Party. As things stand, I will now sit as an Independent councillor for Waterloo. I'm 23. I grew up here, walked these streets as a little boy and couldn't be prouder to now represent the community I call home. I didn't get into politics for a career or a party badge. I got into it to help people and make my community better. At Green Party Conference, a motion was passed declaring Zionism a form of racism and committing the party to oppose it. I had serious concerns about what this could mean for Jewish members. Being Jewish does not make someone a Zionist. Jewish people hold many different views on Israel and Zionism. An amendment was put forward saying members should not be pressured or disciplined simply because they attend or are connected to Jewish institutions such as synagogues or community centres. It also sought to ensure Jewish members weren't punished for views that wouldn't see non-Jewish members punished. I voted for it. It was rejected. I then voted against the final motion. I saw Jewish members in tears afterwards. I won't forget that. I came back to Waterloo knowing I couldn't look residents in the face and defend something I believe is wrong. I will always stand up for Palestinian freedom and speak out against the actions of the Israeli Government. But I can do that while standing with our Jewish community against antisemitism. We must be able to do both. I fear the Green Party is heading to a very dark place. I cannot follow it there. If that means my political career ends at 23, so be it. I'm not leaving Waterloo. I'll still be here, taking up your casework, fighting your corner and doing everything I can for the community I love.

The โ€œanticolonialโ€ crowd went awfully silent when Turkey started talking about reconquering Jerusalem. Theyโ€™d go nuts if British ministers vowed to reconquer New Delhi. Theyโ€™d go ballistic if the French said theyโ€™d โ€œliberateโ€ Algiers or the Spanish said theyโ€™d take back Lima.

Antisemitism isn't just swastikas daubed on walls. It can also be "wrapped in the language of human rights and social justice.. and posit that all Jews must be regarded as suspect until they have proven their purity". Telling story from @JewishChron

This agreement is far worse than I expected. To reopen the straitโ€” a strait that was open before the warโ€” we and our partners are transferring billions to the autocrats. We get nothing elseโ€” no elimination of enriched uranium, missiles, or terrorist support. And to add one final gift, we agree to not help the Iranian people pursue their democratic aspirations. Just incredible.

PROS of the MOU โ€ข Iran pinky promises not to develop a nuclear weapon. โ€ข The Strait of Hormuz reopens, with commercial shipping passing toll free for 60 days. CONS of the MOU โ€ข Broad sanctions relief for Iran. โ€ข Frozen Iranian assets are unfrozen. โ€ข Hezbollah appears to be protected from continued Israeli military pressure. โ€ข Enriched uranium remains inside Iran. โ€ข No provisions addressing Iranโ€™s support for terror proxies. โ€ข No provisions addressing Iranโ€™s ballistic missile program. โ€ข No provisions addressing Iranโ€™s systematic human rights abuses. โ€ข No requirement for Iran to dismantle or disarm the Axis of Resistance. โ€ข No commitment from Iran to end support for Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, or other proxy groups.

โ€˜A young Jewish woman was pressured by her CEO to accept being assigned a non-Jewish name at work, in the directory, email & office interactions to avoid offending clients. In Australia, where a trans personโ€™s chosen gender & chosen name must be accepted to avoid offence. If I live to be 100 I will not get over todayโ€™s testimony.โ€™ These are the words of one of our Australian followers in response to yesterdayโ€™s hearing of the Australian Royal Commission on Antisemitism. She adds, โ€˜I tried imagining the fallout if anyone had told India Willoughby that he had to use his male name. Then I realised I didn't have the brain capacity to hold the hypocrisy & insanity of both these things.โ€™ One minority is expected to erase itself to avoid offence, while another is protected from offence by institutional force. That is a profound double standard. We say: antisemitism is not a burden for Jews to manage, but an entrenched conspiracy theory that society must confront.

Targeting the IRGC is not an attack on Iran or its peopleโ€”itโ€™s quite literally the opposite. Itโ€™s targeting the very force that massacred 40,000 unarmed protestors just a few weeks ago. Iranians are celebrating the strikes to dismantle the Ayatollahโ€™s killing machine.

A photo of 5-year-old Osama al-Rakab has gone viral, used to falsely depict Israel as responsible for his condition, claiming Israel is starving children. #TheFacts: Osama suffers from a serious genetic illness unrelated to the war. On June 12, we actively coordinated Osama's exit from Gaza with his mother and brother through the Ramon airport. He is now receiving treatment in Italy. Tragic images rightfully stir strong emotions, but when theyโ€™re misused to fuel hatred and lies, they do more harm than good. Donโ€™t let compassion be exploited for propaganda. Check the facts before parroting blame.

Today, we Iranians are faced with something truly unbelievable: Western, liberal, โ€œwokeโ€ feminists, clueless about the brutal reality in our country, consistently stand with our oppressors under the delusion of saviorism. They have no understanding of the decades of humiliation, violence, and systemic oppression weโ€™ve endured under the Islamic Republic. Driven by their own need to feel morally superior, they claim to fight for justice while turning a blind eye to the suffering of millions. And letโ€™s be honest, they are some of the most racist voices out there. They look at Iranians and other โ€œbrown peopleโ€ as too backward, too uncivilized, too dumb to deserve real freedom or democracy. In their eyes, weโ€™re wild animals, only manageable under tyranny. But hereโ€™s the truth: we are the ones fighting for real freedom, the same freedom they weaponize to silence us. And we want absolutely nothing to do with their hypocrisy.

As Hamas begins again executing Palestinians in Gaza for protesting โ€” nine killed, others kidnapped and disappeared โ€” the Western pro-Palestine movement remains deafeningly silent. You chant "Free Palestine" while ignoring Palestinians who demand freedom from a regime that tortures and kills them. You cry out against bombs, but say nothing about bullets fired into the heads of unarmed protesters by Hamas. This is not solidarity โ€” itโ€™s moral bankruptcy. If you can't condemn the fascists ruling us, then you're not standing with us โ€” you're standing on top of us, speaking over our dead. If you truly stand with Gaza, then act like it. Protest not only for the end of war, but for the end of tyranny. Raise your voice for the Gazans being executed, kidnapped, tortured, and silenced by Hamas. And if you mean what you say about liberation, then demand what Gaza needs most: Hamasโ€™s surrender and disarmament. Your silence helps them kill. Your voice can help stop it.
