yes that is literally the entire point. 90% of the city is bikeable. it has world class public transit and incredibly cheap buses. motor vehicles cause so much damage to roads and are responsible for so many fatalities and serious injuries. you’re not meant to drive!
Sadiq Khan has made London a living hell for motorists man.

we can’t even maintain 70+ MPs despite the tireless work of campaigners anymore. davey needs to step down and allow someone else to move the party onto an upwards trajectory else we risk truly becoming irreversibly irrelevant

easy to blame this on prices but in truth it’s the internet that’s caused a great deal of this. why go out to spend time with your friends when you’re interacting with eachother on 4 different apps constantly? why leave the house when you’ve always got something to watch?
Wow, Friday night has become just another weeknight in terms of socialization.

biggest issue with trains is for some reason the operators think people will book them weeks in advance like they do with flights, and not days if not hours in advance like they actually do
How have we let this happen as a country

and in the most american thing possible, instead of putting it somewhere useful they put it in a desert and built a car park

i’m incredibly grateful to ed for his part in helping keep the party from fading into irrelevance and delivering us the best result we’ve had in 100 years, however it is becoming increasingly apparent the party is going nowhere under its current direction. (1/2)

it’s because of this i believe ed should not lead the party into the next election. a year ago we hadn’t had a single poll below 10% all parliament, now we’re averaging less than 10% in the polls. we cannot simply be the party of ex tories in the south west. (2/2)

your issue here should be with the post office for not setting the border as a boundary between postcodes
Hi @cineworld - Broughton is in Wales, not England. A big tell is the bilingual signs all through the building (and crucially, they followed Welsh covid rules, not English).

less cars on the road and there’s less potholes to repair btw. local governments should be all over public transport initiatives
Something about the Romans didn’t know their empire had fallen, they just noticed one day that the roads were no longer being repaired.

What's funny is that this chart shows that Halloween is the absolute safest day for child pedestrians. 30-50x safer. Literally 100x the number of normal child pedestrians are out, but there's (only) a doubling of deaths on that day, a difference of 1.5 kids nationwide.

they’re rioting and you’re saying they aren’t french?
France is currently seeing mass violent riots by migrant school kids. Schools have been set on fire along with busses and police assaulted. This is the second day of unrest taking over France. Over 1,000 have been arrested 400 schools have been closed 2 high schools were set on fire. This is the result of mass immigration.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The opening burning bus is from a Jan 2023 mechanical accident in Nîmes, not current protests. Passengers evacuated safely. Current unrest involves student protests over school conditions with violence and fires. tf1info.fr/justice-faits-… reuters.com/world/about-40…
