Bitcoin does not only need price discovery.
It needs psychological digestion.
Every order of magnitude first sounds absurd:
$1
$10
$100
$1,000
$10,000
$100,000
$1,000,000
The first touch is not acceptance.
The real pattern is:
ridicule
first break
rejection
retrace
reclaim
normalisation
next target becomes imaginable
This is why $100,000 matters so much.
Not because Bitcoin touched it.
But because the market still has to make it boring.
My framework for Bitcoin valuation has three layers:
1. Valuation horizon
Gold is the clearest reference. Not a guarantee, not a law, but a mental anchor. It allows the market to imagine what a non-sovereign scarce monetary asset could be worth.
2. Credibility layer
Security, mining, liquidity, custody, regulation, decentralisation, ETFs, institutional access. These are the gravity layer. They decide whether the valuation horizon is believable.
3. Psychological catalyst
Markets do not update linearly. They update in jumps.
At $1,000, $10,000 sounded insane.
At $10,000, $100,000 became thinkable.
At $100,000, $1,000,000 enters the conversation.
Bitcoin is deeply reflexive.
Higher price can create legitimacy.
Legitimacy attracts capital.
Capital improves liquidity.
Liquidity attracts institutions.
Institutions reinforce credibility.
But it works both ways in bear markets.
So the question is not simply:
โCan Bitcoin reach $1 million?โ
The better question is:
โWhat has to happen before $1 million stops sounding ridiculous?โ
My answer:
Gold must remain the reference.
Fundamentals must keep improving.
And $100,000 must become boring.

Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again." โ Jason Calacanis
Jason, I'll bet you $1,000,000 it will break its ATH. Here are the terms:
Bitcoin hits or exceeds $126,210.50 on or before October 28, 2028, 12PM PST
Iโm happy to trust you to pay or if you prefer we can each escrow the dollars with independent party.
The bet is either settled when Bitcoin hits the ATH or on October 28, 2028.
@jason Do we have a bet?

Jason, I'll bet you $1,000,000 that you're wrong.
Here are the terms:
Bitcoin must exceed $126,210.50 (its October 2025 ATH) before October 28, 2036.
If Bitcoin does, I win $1 million.
If it doesn't, you win $1 million.
We each put $1 million into independent escrow, with a mutually agreed custodian and objective price oracle.
The bet ends immediately if Bitcoin breaks the record. Otherwise, it settles on October 28, 2036.
No excuses. No moving the goalposts.
You said NEVER.
I'm giving you just 10 years.
Do we have a bet?

Chamath says Bitcoin goes to zero once AI cracks its cryptography - SHA-256 included.
Respectfully, that conflates AI, quantum computing, and two very different cryptographic problems.
SHA-256 isnโt the main quantum vulnerability.
Groverโs algorithm offers a square-root speedup for finding a matching input. That still leaves an enormous computational task, before accounting for the hardware overhead.
The more direct threat is to Bitcoinโs signatures: ECDSA and Schnorr. A sufficiently powerful quantum computer running Shorโs algorithm could recover a private key from an exposed public key. Thatโs the attack those resource estimates describe.
AI can help optimize circuits and search for new attacks. But โAI gets smarterโ is not evidence that SHA-256 is broken. You still have to demonstrate an attack.
A practical break of SHA-256 would also have consequences far beyond Bitcoin. That wouldnโt make Bitcoinโs problem any smaller.
The questions that matter are concrete:
Which coins have exposed public keys?
How do we migrate to quantum-resistant signatures?
What happens to coins that never move?
How much warning do we get?
I expect manhy years of warning. Thatโs a judgment, not a guarantee - and a reason to prepare now.
โBitcoin goes to zeroโ skips the engineering, the migration, and every decision in between.
Precision matters folks.

The famous Umayyad Mosque in Damascus was originally a Cathedral.
Many people forget that the Middle East was majority Christian for centuries, and that the most prominent examples of 'islamic architecture' were built on top of existing work.
Syria was overwhelmingly Christian, until it was colonised.
Christian erasure in the Middle East is one of the greatest tragedies in all human history.

Hereโs a table of publicly owned companies founded by Jews vs Muslims in the United States, and the total number of employees each has globally. (Finding United States employment numbers was far too difficult.)
This doesn't include private companies. Let me know if I have missed any.
Enjoy!

OCTOBER 7, 2023: SHE KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO DIE.
Libi Cohen-Meguri, a 22-year-old infantry officer, went to the Nova music festival.
She was shot while fleeing the party. At 8:11 a.m., she called her parents and said:
โIโve been shot in the stomach, Iโve been shot in the arm, Iโm losing blood. Iโm going to die.โ
Calmly, quietly, she understood; these were the last minutes of her life.
She asked her parents to call Tomer, her twin brother, and Maya, her little sister, and said:
โIโm going to die. I just want you to listen to me.
I love you, Yariv. Youโre the best father I could have asked for.
Mom, stop screaming. Just listen to me. You are the best mother we could have ever had. Donโt forget to be a good mother to Tomer and Maya after I die.
Tomer, how lucky we were to live this life together. I love you.
My Maya, never forgetโyou are the treasure of my life.โ
When she finished speaking, her parents told her to get out of the car, lie down on the road, and pretend to be dead.
With her last bit of strength, she got out of the car and laid down on the road.
โMom, theyโre coming to shoot me again,โ Libi said after lying down.
While her mother listened on the phone, shouts in Arabic could be heard, and then a barrage of gunfire.
It didnโt stop.
It kept going, until the call was disconnected.
And thatโs how Libi diedโwith demonic beasts from the pit of hell standing over her and emptying a full magazine into her body.
Libi died with LOVE on her lips: love for life, love for her family, and love for her people.
Her memory will forever be a blessing.
NEVER FORGET.
NEVER FORGIVE.
NEVER AGAIN IS NOW.

BTW, the interview happened before Israel had even entered Gaza, which didnโt happen until October 27.

Thierry Henry on Argentina :
"Argentina are still unbeaten, yet every win comes with the same tired excuse: 'It's rigged.' Nobody wants to give them credit because that would mean accepting what has become obvious. Since Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't win the World Cup, some fans have turned every Argentina victory into a conspiracy instead of appreciating the football. That's not analysis, it's denial."
"Lionel Messi doesn't need anyone's validation anymore. If your first reaction to every Argentina win is 'rigged,' maybe it's because you've run out of football arguments. For me, the GOAT debate is over. It's Messi."
