Member of Provincial Parliament for Sarnia-Lambton Retweets ≠ Endorsements

Sarnia-Lambton
Joined June 2011
I was pleased to join Minister @Sflecce for the announcement of the proposed Northern Shield Energy Corridor today. This ambitious project would connect Alberta's oil sands to Sarnia-Lambton, reinforcing our community's position as one of Canada's most important energy hubs.

Having a space that offers comfort, dignity and compassionate care can make all the difference for families navigating some of life’s most difficult moments. We celebrated the groundbreaking of Evergreen Hospice in Markham–Stouffville. This new facility will be a valuable resource for local families, providing care and support when they need it most.

BREAKING: The DRIPA gamble, by @IndianRevisited hymie.substack.com/p/the-dri… Former provincial court judge Brian Giesbrecht says British Columbia chiefs’ rejection of the proposed amendments to the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) helped the B.C. Conservatives win the provincial election. The chiefs’ stance, following the Gitxaala case, created legal instability and forced the NDP to abandon the amendments, ultimately contributing, he claims, to the government’s collapse. While I’m not entirely convinced this was the main reason for Eby’s premature election call, I’m sure many voters decided to throw out the NDP government yesterday because they feared the now ex-premier was wrongly turning over both Crown and private lands to the remnants of mixed-race indigenous bands of formerly wandering hunters and gatherers whose ancestors had never developed fee-simple or other exclusive property rights to the territories they occupied on a short-term or occasional basis. I also believe that even if the NDP had completed their legally mandated term as the governing party in B.C., they would have lost by an even bigger margin two years from now.

Federal Liberal MP Jennifer McKelvie was the deputy mayor of Toronto under Olivia Chow. After working closely with Chow, McKelvie is endorsing Brad Bradford. Tells you something.

2026 Oct 25 - That's a commitment that's very important to me. Protection of property rights. Cancel DRIPA and no more giving the province away to race based groups.

The West has enormous resources, economic strength and potential. It's time for the CONSERVATIVE strong B.C., Alberta and Sask to start leading the way. A stronger Canada starts in the West!

Lorne Doerkson on Wab Kinew’s comments that the BC results “should concern every elected politician” and that being elected is “a responsibility not to be played with”: “Well, I don’t disagree. We should all be concerned. British Columbians voted for change last night and for whatever reason they liked the platform that we put forward. … I’ve always been somebody that the moment I’ve been elected I’ve got to work and for me that isn’t going to change. I intend to get to work right away. I intend to work for British Columbia hard because four years comes quick.” @WabKinew @LDoerkson
I asked Premier Kinew if he has concerns about Premier-designate Doerksen's promise to repeal DRIPA in BC: "The election results in BC should concern every elected politician and every consultant out there... what we're doing is not a game." #cdnpoli

The Real Lone Ranger - Indian Territory, 1875. He was born enslaved in Arkansas in 1838. He knocked out his master during the Civil War and escaped into Indian Territory, living with Creek and Seminole tribes, learning 5 languages. In 1875, he became one of the first Black Deputy U.S. Marshals west of the Mississippi River. His name was Bass Reeves. For 32 years, he patrolled the most dangerous place in America - Indian Territory, now Oklahoma. He arrested over 3,000 fugitives, killed 14 outlaws in self-defense, and was never shot once in 32 years. He was a master of disguise. He once had to arrest his own son for murder and he did it. Hollywood made The Lone Ranger - a white masked hero riding with a Native American. They never told you it was based on Bass Reeves, a 6'2 Black man who rode with a Native American partner. His story was erased for 100 years.
