Are Kannadigas being overlooked for jobs at Bengaluru Airport?
A debate over local employment has intensified at Karnataka's Kempegowda International Airport, with Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) demanding greater job opportunities for Kannadigas.
A KRV delegation met airport officials and representatives of 13 companies over alleged hiring preferences for non-local candidates. According to KRV, the companies have assured them that they will double their local workforce within a year.
While allegations of recruitment bias remain unverified, the controversy has raised questions about local employment opportunities at the airport. KIAL's response is awaited.

Around the airport’s opening (data as of 31 March 2008, under CEO Albert Brunner):
53% of BIAL’s own staff were Kannadigas (out of 473 employees).
40% of managers were Kannadigas (74 out of 185).
Concessionaire staff: roughly 80% Kannadigas (of about 2,750 recruits).
After Malayali Hari Marar has taken over BIAL, no such data has been published till today . Is that correct ? If yes, Why ?
1. What is the guarantee that there is no biased hiring or any unfair hiring practices?
2. What is the guarantee that Kannadigas are not discriminated in hiring ?
3. Why BIAL has become so opaque despite GOK having significant stake in it ? Where is transperency?
