Delhi SIR: 4,263 ‘objections’ missing from CEO's website. Between August 31 and October 16, 13,462 objections were received but only 9,199 were disclosed publicly. Importantly, no action can be taken on an objection without publishing it in public domain. thehindu.com/news/cities/Del…

This action by UP police against a 20-year-old student is facing heavy criticism from all quarters including Supreme Court and earlier Allahabad High Court observation incase of another student protester where district admin behaved atrociously. Reporting with @ButaniAshna

Missing: boundary walls, bathrooms, blackboards. The Hindu reports on the state of govt schools in four States-UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, MP. Common Q they faced- Are you from CJP? At govt school on the outskirts of Bhopal- The classrooms don’t have an electricity connection and many do not have fans or lights. The switchboards have been removed and the wires taped shut. Over the phone, Malviya says that the school building has been in poor condition for about five years. The electricity connection had to be cut since water was leaking through the ceiling and there was risk of it reaching the wires, he says. @ButaniAshna @AmarnathTewary @MehulMalpani and Mayank Kumar report thehindu.com/news/national/m…

Living with pellets in their body- Two weeks after at least four protesters sustained pellet injuries during the July 20 protest march to Parliament, some pellets remain lodged in their bodies, with doctors removing only those that pose a greater risk if left inside. Prashant Kumar Singh, a 25-year-old artist who was among the protesters injured by pellets, was discharged from hospital on Tuesday after undergoing surgery to remove multiple pellets. According to him, around 15 pellets were lodged in his body, causing multiple injuries to his arm, forearm and chest. Last week, Mr. Singh had said he was unable to work on his artwork because the injuries were on his right hand. @ButaniAshna ✍️ thehindu.com/news/cities/Del…

Delhi Police must explain the use of pellet guns on protestor. #MustRead story @vijaita @ButaniAshna
In a first, pellet guns, shock-batons used against protestors in Delhi. Part of RAF’s gear for crowd control measures, pellets were last used during 2024 farmers protest in Haryana, Manipur (2023) and Kashmir (2016). Pellets can potentially blind the target. Though police denied and CRPF did not comment, at least one among 80 protestors injured during CJP march was operated upon at a govt hospital, pellets removed from under his eye and neck . @ButaniAshna and I ✍️ thehindu.com/news/national/p…
