morning ☕️ and working when I hear the familiar sound of four Merlin engines. I’m confused because I figured VeRA, the Lancaster bomber was in ❄️ maintenance.
I check Flightradar 24.
Go outside.
I think of 🇨🇦 airmen, sailors, & soldiers who sacrificed for us. @CWHM

On Aug. 5, 2026, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum marked a major milestone in one of its most extensive and lengthy restoration projects by reattaching the outboard wing panels to their Bristol Bolingbroke Mk IVT RCAF 10117 bomber. @CWHM @WarbirdsNews vintageaviationnews.com/rest…

Thank you @CWHM for the double feature airshow this morning. I stepped outside to look at the C-47* (DC-3) and then saw VeRA the Mynarski Lancaster.
Then a repeat fly by. Some iPhone pictures.

…and the Mitchell B-25 going over today. By the time I hear the sound and get my phone ready for video, it’s almost too late to get a good video! But it’s still a backyard airshow par excellence!

Probably one of the last times this year that I get to enjoy my personal back yard airshow!

Despite being a grown man when I heard the distinctive sound of those Merlin engines I ran downstairs and out the door like a fanboy to see VeRA the Mynarski Lancaster bomber fly over.
Someday I’ll grow up but today ain’t that day
Thank you @CWHM

✈️ museums are great with grandchildren. Usually not crowded. Lots of open space for the children to wander via Brownian motion & not hit anyone, long sight lines, & lots of things to show them. I take my grandchildren to the @CWHM to show them our 🇨🇦 history, lunch, and a gift.
