Australia has now deployed the army to transfer people with positive cases and close contacts to the Howard Springs quarantine camp. Let this sink in. IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP.

Databases of the future will be @PostgreSQL compatible. Because the most standard SQL, with a huge ecosystem of tools & frameworks, and developers love it. This is great because you can test many DB for your application. Which compatibility? protocol? SQL? PL/pgSQL? Extensions?
Write Once, then chose to run on managed Spanner in the cloud or any vanilla PostgreSQL anywhere

Ok. It’s been boiling in me for many moons now. #FuckFacebook. From where I sit (and come to your own conclusions, of course) I can say that I’m confident that while it does some good - on the balance, it’s a fucking cancer on humanity. Just my $0.02.

Whilst they may have deep techinical knowledge, it would be unfair to expect most DBAs or Admins have the expertise to deal with contractual/commercial matters around Oracle licensing. Get a specialist. /cc @xpabu

Wait for it. HOLEY S@&T!!!! I would have pooped my pants. Pilots please look out of the window and weave in descents and climbs to have a peak every now and again. Don’t become focussed on one thing (runway) to the detriment of looking out. #WePilots xitter.cf/aerofede/status/143770…

Yes @PostgreSQL becomes the SQL standard for companies who want to move out of the commercial license model, still using advanced data processing features. Not only for the language but the ecosystem of tools and frameworks around it.
Just occurred to me that one reason for @PostgreSQL's rising strength (borne out by the DB-Engines' shift in rankings) is that companies want off Oracle, SQL Server, DB2...but aren't yet considering a move off SQL. Postgres (with its quality and community) makes a nice change
