We headed to see A Is For Amy theatre show this evening. It was a really important Co-created show depicting the lived experience & insights of young people who have experienced toxic, controlling behaviour in relationships. Congrats @ChangeRelations for bringing it to the stage!

Cannot stop thinking about @ChangeRelations’ “A is for Amy”, a complex & sensitive play by @zoe_murtagh, co-created with survivors of domestic abuse & coercive control. Absolute dream team of creatives, including @bridiejackson1 & @bridgetwriting, too. Really important work.

Powerful, engaging, and urgently-needed play on young people and domestic abuse. The young people from our project said they liked it, they spotted the signs, and liked the strong message about friends' concern and help. Kudos @ChangeRelations and A for Amy team team! 👏

2 points from my @BBCRadioLondon interview yesterday: ➡️ #DomesticAbuse services are forced to piece many different funding streams together just to keep their doors open ➡️ 'By and for' services are absolutely vital to delivering meaningful support to minoritised survivors 1/2

Good to hear @Keir_Starmer state clearly that for survivors of domestic abuse home is the most dangerous place. And may I add, housing being one of the biggest barrier to leaving an abusive (ex) partner. @DAHAlliance @womensaid

Astounded at the excuse for offensive language by these serving officers. Is it really so difficult, new & surprising to realize that joking about raping women could be deeply offensive & concerning without this being explicitly spelled out in training?! theguardian.com/uk-news/2022…
